Charlie Munger Predicts a Horrible Economic Crisis Where EVERYTHING WILL COLLAPSE

  • Charlie Munger warns about the biggest inflationary bubble in world history bursting and shares his thoughts on how it is going to unfold. He elaborates on the difficulty of building wealth for the young generation of today compared to his. Charlie says that we’re flirting with serious trouble and the consequences may be worse than what Paul Volcker was dealing with in the 1970s.
Being a vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway and the closest partner (right hand man) of Warren Buffett, Charles T. Munger has a net worth of around $2 billion. He is a profoundly wise man who is absolutely worth listening to, especially when it comes to investing, the psychology of wealthy people, rationality, and life experience.

Stocks are falling and bond yields are rising, but markets still don’t seem convinced the Federal Reserve will pursue plans to keep increasing interest rates until inflation is under control. I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $117k stocck portfolio, what’s the best way to take advantage of this bear market?

Having an investment adviser is the best way to go about the market right now, I've been in touch with a coach for awhile now mostly cause I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I nettd over $220K during this dip, that made it clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know

With markets tumbling, inflation soaring, the Fed imposing large interest-rate hike, while treasury yields are rising rapidly-which means more red ink for portfolios this quarter. How can I profit from the current volatile market, I'm still at a crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $125k bond/stocck portfolio

@Charlotte Riley Right, I've been in constant touch with a fiinancial-analyst since covid . You know these days it's really easy to buy into trending stock`s, but the task is determining when to buy or sell . My advisorr decides entry and exit commands on my portfoliio, I've accrued over $550k from an initially stagnant reserve of $150K

Focus on two key objectives. First, stay protected by learning when to sell stocks to cut losses and capture profits. Second, prepare to profit when the market turns around.I recommend you seek the guidance a broker or financial advisor.

There are a lot of strategies to make tongue-wetting profit that the average joes don't know. . Personally, the financial-market for me seems the only way forward with my long time horizon (accrued roughly $457k in gains since Mid 2021 ) but if you don’t have that fortune of time it’s a tough market out there almost nowhere feels safe!

Her approach is transparent allowing total ownership and control over my portfolio with fees very reasonable in comparison with my investment-income. Also, She covers things like investment insurance, making sure retirement is well funded, Go over tax advantages , ways to have a volatility buffer for investment risk. many things like that.

The 2008-09 crash saw markets fall, wiping out trillions of dollars around the world, but savvy investors recognized a once-in-a-lifetime buying power, with companies' stocks on the market at deep discounts. With markets recovering from the Great Recession, these investors realized tremendous gains from their assertive maneuvers. I'm no savvy-investor, but the one method I've relied on to gain rapidly during times like this is having an asset-coach guide me. It may sound cliche, but I've been able to pull off over $750k this year alone using just this single method.

Reduce unnecessary expenses, increase your savings by investing in financial markets and do not sell. One thing I know for sure is that diversifying your income can help insulate you from much of the craziness going on in the world.

Dividends are what got me into investing in the stock market. The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. Have over $600K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further

It's not about being superficial and envious. Being "poor" for a prolonged term of a time. Makes you and your nation weak for invading species. Money is also protection in this current global climate. And the rise of China is a prime example of this. Even in the war between Russia and the US we can see this coming back. It shouldn't have to be this way, but it is, because those that were able to subdue the rest of the world with weapons and violence made these rules and now everyone has to adhere to them

It's interesting that he threw in a little blurb that he doesn't understand- fat poor people. Their diet of cheap food, bc they don't have money to buy real food to last, contributes dramatically. When we let a good deal of our GDP be acquired through things that are unhealthy, this is what we get. He shouldn't comment on things he doesn't understand. Otherwise, I appreciate his wisdom.

I’m so glad he has come out and said this. Everyone complaining about the interest rates over the last couple months. The government still looking to print and throw tons of newly printed money at the market while wages remain stagnant for 70% of Americans (conservatively). realistically we need higher rates, a moderate but steady increase in wages over the years. And we need it for a longer period of time. We need more people saving funds to pay for things. It’s been decades since even the government has had a balanced budget. Everyone knows there’s a problem. We just don’t mention it.

I knew we were going to have tough times when the Democrats came in office, but I really didn't think it was going to be this tough. At 65, I've been through a few downturns and I've never seen inflation go up this high this fast. Then you start listening to the world news and hear how the UK in Europe are struggling as well with the same issues. What this tells me is that they're trying to force that new world order in pretty quick. I don't know what it's like in other countries, but here in the US the media wants you to think it's a good thing and they brainwashed a few college and Young folks into believing it. But I can guarantee you there's a good 90% the media never reports on that are fighting it, well at least griping about it. If we can get past fraudulent elections we might can make a turnaround but that's looking bleak.

Yes, market crashes. Yes it has not bottomed, It has no business at this level in the first place, pumped up by the Fed and central banks around the world. You can still be 100% invested at this level. Good luck! I prefer to sell the bounce and keep 50% cash. I will not get back into the market more than 50% if S&P is not 30% lower from here. I trade and make quick profits. With this inflation and my expectation on the economy, I am ok with 70% cash. I don’t short the market. Just keep selling the bounce!

The only reason this system is able to sustain itself is because people buy into the falsity of "selfishness as a moral good", which maintains us as our own "jailers." But abundance can only be derived by detachment, and inclusion, which capitalism can't afford.
After the planet flushes this stupid shit down the toilet, our epitaph, written, hopefully, by a more sensible species, maybe an anthropological oncologist, will state that "Capitalism was the greatest possible achievement of a barbaric mind."

At this point, watching from the view of agencies that help help people get past obstacles (without judgment of where they are, financially-the "wise" need to do more to help pass the wisdom down), I see that this man who knows a lot about money is purely clueless about the plight off the poor. This is why we are where we are, the screaming for help to get through perilous times is thought of as envy.
I have come to the conclusion, after work in agencies and listening to stories (and trying to climb out of poverty myself) that we weren't listening to the needs of the people. They were the signal! What if we heard the cry of the poor? Maybe we wouldn't be where we are today. It all starred at the bottom. Where we (including me) thought it was a lack of monetary responsibility (due to lack of knowledge) and told people to work more to get through tough times. This led to kids being raised by themselves.
Within the last five years I have had to look at budgets of the people. They are working hard, two and three jobs, sometimes mom & dad 2 jobs each. WE WEREN'T LISTENING! That was our signal that things were going to get tough for the rest of us. But we were so instant that it was envy and lack of responsibility. Seems we may have been wrong, at least partially.
When basic necessities cost more than what one can earn, it's a problem- for all of us! The divide between the wealthy and poor has grown too wide. Neither side understands each other, but the lower income have to pay the bill, regardless.
Please, Mr Munger- stick to your area of expertise. And yes, there is much greed, even you!

well,, join the crowd ! Munger says, "EVERYTHING WILL COLLAPSE". So, the apparent answer is: LOOK FOR TANGABLE ASSETS- STUFF THAT WILL BE STUFF, when the dust settles. Hard assets. Houses will still be property, metals will still be metals, farm land for agriculture, etc. We also have uninvestments(cash), depreciating because of inflation & that's kinda sad nevertheless his use of the word "EVERYTHING" perhaps includes the banks like in 1933? Good luck! I completely agree with his assessment as the trajectory of our economy isn't a very pretty picture in the long term.

Predicting< a reversal of a trend is risky, and even worse than we thought, I believe there is more to this market than we understand currently. When people are losing, they don't aim to increase their average, but that can only change if you have a personal trade guide and signal provider like that of MarieFreeman which has made me almost 9.5 on a 2 btc Trade capital over the last 10 months. Make the wise decision. Markets fluctuate in cycles that can last anywhere from a few days to several years. In the case of B -TC, it's difficult to make a bullish case simply from looking at the charts.

It feels like a trifle at this point compared to the personal misery many of us have already had to experience through life, especially since the pandemic started. And half of us at this point practically are wanting the world to burn anyway.
Simply put, we don't care anymore.

Charlie Munger, you are just incredibly wise. The way you pointed out that the world is not driven by greed, it is driven by Envy. I guess this statement is going to stay with me for a long long time.
Even though we are 600% better off than previous generations, we are still more unhappy due to the pretentious expenditure of the Rich. The quote "Why would you want Rolex watch when you can get mugged for it" was humorous but still holds true... Thank you for your words

correct! that is how you rip people of in the making of your own empire. Only a fool would feel sympathy for any human. Because when they get such types of wealth in their Favor, unless you contribute you are better off dead.

It's not too late to read the Buffett/Munger books, which often intertwine life lessons and personal finance throughout. Such as Buffett lives in same $300k house he always has, drives a Cadillac or Buick, eats at Mcd's. These guys walk the walk. Buffet donating 95% of his enormous wealth to charity.

Epic investor without a doubt. The Era of technology is being swept in as I write this. A new paradigm of wealth has begun. There is no more good money to be had in stocks as the world transitions in to the new digital monetary system. Blockchain is where it's at. Hedge your money while you still have it.

all due respect to the man who seems to represent a sacred figure of economics for some folks here; however his"predictions" could have included the plot for catastrophe those 500 (give or take) super wealthy global elite families are contemplating. But no, not a word on them. Not a word on poverty, on societies crashing under the weight of financial pressures unseen in the last 100 years. Not a word about covid 19-20-21-22 and counting. Of course you cant expect a member of the global elite to open up about the plans of the global elite, right? So if this so loved, apparently, super guru of investments is so narrow-minded, I think I'll pass on his predictions. They don;'t bring anything new to the table.
    But wait.

I respect Mr. Munger for his incisive mind.
On my part, I am acutely aware of current policies and situation of the world.
However, things like we will not have enough to feed everyone, everything will be worse off, the world will go to dogs, etc., have been uttered a million times before.
Malthus’ theory on food inadequacy, for instance. But none of those have come true. Why? Human ingenuity!
It makes humans adapt to changing environments, while the dinosaurs perished.
Do not underestimate human ingenuity, therefore.
Not being able to build substantial wealth in the future may or may not be a constraint as people may share instead of owning, and there could be many other developments hitherto unknown.
See how far emerging economies have come (the term to describe them fifty years ago was “underdeveloped countries”).
Who would have thought of China becoming a giant economy as she is today, fifty years ago?
I would submit that we should remain open to the possibility of things being very different in the future, but that does not necessarily mean those will be bad.
It is because no one has seen the future yet. History may repeat or rhyme, but it may not repeat or rhyme either.

Everybody should understand by now that our global economic system NEEDS to be changed - no, not to communism, libertarism or any other system that has been tried and failed, but something completely new.
(Let everyone have a Rolex - but let them not pay a small fortune for it, causing envy, as Charlie Munger mentions in this video).
A system, in which wealth is no longer important (the wealthy - like Charlie Munger - will/would do what they can do prevent this, I am certain).
Men like Charlie Munger (who?) seem to realise the huge problems that we are in, but they do not seem to realise (on purpose?) that our current economic system is disastrous in the (very) long term for everyone and everything (humans, animals, nature, the entire planet).

Look up the quotes of Charlie Munger - some of the most banal, trite, fortune cookie blathering you will ever come across. As another poster has mentioned, even on this video he hedges his bets to the point of parody.
