The precision through the whole build was astonishing. This is probably the most beautiful knife I've ever seen.
Hey thanks Blake Merry Christmas
I have to say, this is by far the most gorgeous knife that I have ever seen. The profile of the blade, the contrast between the blade and handle, and the pattern of the damascus steel is all incredible! The amount of care and detail that went into not only making the knife, but also planning it out is astounding. And seeing this blade come to life from a couple metal billets has made this video all the more satisfying. Keep up the amazing work!
Dude that is a pure masterwork. The pattern really stuck out in my head and I couldn't stop looking at it. While watching the presentation of the finished knife I found myself trying to use my mouse to move around the knife to look at it closer, I love it. I want to make things like this when I can afford the craft. To hold and use something I spent so much time on would be amazing. Keep it up man! You make some amazing pieces of art!
Beautiful! Probably the best Damascus blade art I've seen yet! I couldn't imagine what the price tag is.
This is one of the most beautiful knifes I have ever seen in my entire life. Keep up the good work!
5:46 Already that’s one of the most beautiful patterns I have ever seen in steel. It is amazing how you manage to accomplish that.
..incredibly amazing end result. It's even scary to think how much patience, time, skills and various tools and materials are needed to get such beauty.Respect.
That came out absolutely outrageous! Your attention to details is second to none. I commend you!
Probably the most beautiful knife i've ever seen and I watch a lot of knife making videos. Amazing
I learned so much from you in this, so many issues I've struggled with in my knife making, beautifully illustrated on this masterclass of knife making. thank you ...
WOW that’s the most stunning Damascus blade I’ve ever seen. Well done you should be so proud of the workmanship that went into creating such a beautiful knife 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I am always amazed at your work, and just when I think you can not possibly make something more amazing you come out with a video like this! I can’t even begin to imagine the cost on a custom knife like this. My best guess would be $20K plus! What a truly beautiful awe inspiring piece of knife art!
Not only outstanding metalworking & knife making skills, excellent video production too. Fantastic knife.
Your documentation of your process is a gift to all of us hobbyist smiths. It’s a lot of hard-earned knowledge shared for free. Thank you.😊
Absolutely banging knife brother ....I love it !!! That design was jaw dropping you can tell you put your heart n soul into this project, definitely a heirloom piece
I don't think I've seen more precise and careful work. The best mosaic maker out there. I hope you get as much joy from your work as you provide for your audience.
An absolute masterpiece of handcrafted art. It is one thing to see nice "mass reproduction" Limited Edition blades, but this is a whole nother level of master craftsmanship. You are a Master of your craft. I enjoyed watching your process.
That's some ultra high-level perfection knife making. Amazing.
Most amazing damascum steel I ever see!!thanks for sharing your work
As a guy that learned to forge 1095, files, and leaf spring, and thought I was good, along comes DaVinci. My mind is completely blown. Incredible knife! I'm in awe.
That's the most beautiful knife I've ever seen. You're incredibly talented!
I am most probably the most uninformed person in the world when it comes to the art of forging, but a person doesnt have to be a profesional to realise that what you are making are one of the most perfect forms of art I have ever witnessed! Ive said it before and I will say it again... You sir, are a master, and I absolutely love to watch you work. I would without a doubt buy one of your knives should I ever get the opportunity to do so, and I will pay handsomly for it!
Your stuff is art. I am an artist and I think your work belongs in an art exhibition. It is beautifully made and very high-end. As an artist, I am inspired by your work. Be well.
Your work truly is magic to me man. The way you form and make the pattern is amazing and the knife is truly an work of art!
The best part of this video is your excellent explanation of what you are doing and why. Really enjoyed this! Oh, almost forgot... I think this is the most beautiful knife blade I have ever seen.
I have never truly mastered anything in life, it is so awesome to watch a master of their craft at work. Amazing knife, completely beautiful.
Bro!!! Literally amazing your craftsmanship attention to detail and respect for the materials is A beauty to behold! Well done sir! Amazing🔥
The Work you do is Beautiful, no doubts at all. I have been making knives for Soldiers Only, for over 30 yrs now and at times I see you do things that raise my brow in interest as it's new to me.That being said, whilst the Pattern and your Work are Fantastic, this Design has Not really hit the Mark at all. In Fact, this is my Only issue with it. That Great big feckin Scollop at the Base of the blade where the Tang begins. I Sincerely can not Understand why you did it. There are Three other ways I have thought of, to manage that Beaut breadth of the blade meeting the handle and Not one of them even looks at or considers cutting away the Base. Anyway, if you're happy with it and your customer then Jobs done. Again, Nice work.
That turned out so amazing.I love how the design i hidden until you etch it in the ferric chloride. I would hate to do all that work and then at the end when you etch find out the design was messed up. that would stress me out until the end.
Hey thanks. It definitely can be stressful. Fear is not fatal and failure is not final. Merry Christmas my friend Dad
I am absolutely blown away! The workmanship is amazing. The skill involved is unbelievable...Great job!!!
One of the most beautiful and exquisite pieces of craftmanship I have ever seen.
Bravo! The level of detail is insane considering that as you go down further into detail, the amount of work rises exponentiailly!! Bravo!
thanks for sharing this build. I have never built a knife or worked in a forge but you honestly make me want to pick up the craft. This knife is beautiful.
Such a beautiful knife! Congratulations for your patience and skills.
Great knife Kyle, applause to you. It seems you are perfectionist and very accurate in details :)
Респект Мастерам!!! Вы одни из лучших!!! Аплодирую стоя!!!!!!!!!!!!!
absolutely sick build. Bravo! Loved watching every min of it.
Omfg man that’s a seriously beautiful piece of work… 30 minutes to show the whole process, start to finish, and 1000 times that in reality for time to actually make it. I tip my hat to you sir! Ever considered being on forged in fire? You would blow those guys out of the water!
damn, that pattern is freakin amazing!!! you sir are totally awesome!!that knife is a work of art, its so beautiful, amazing sir!!
That is the most beautiful knife, I've ever seen!!! Thank you!
That is some of the most well planned knife pattern making I have ever seen. That is some serious skill.
@Bashar Kb the process for true Damascus from the past is still unknown, these are basically all just best guesses as to how it might have been done
Serious skills + brain
This knife is worth a lot of money. Congratulations on the job.
@Matthew Stratton pkpkplpo Z ., Z.
He was very gentle when forge welding, probably prevented the pattern from being distorted too much
Sir it's the first time watching you and you give me the appreciation for your craft expertise, technical prowess and artistic eye.
Not just a gorgeous knife, but also bravo on the cinematografi, great quality video!!
What an amazing piece of work. What does a knife like that sell for?
Man, seriously, you never fail to amaze me. What a superb build, that damascus is just epic
Произведения искусства !!! Какая кропотливая и точная работа 👍👍👍
I just realized that this is the closest thing to alchemy one can get, this is the turning of base metal into "gold"
Wow, this work is great. Unbelievable beautiful knife...
That is the most beautiful, incredible knife I have ever seen.
The patience to be so meticulous with your craft is honestly awe inspiring. If your knives were sent back in time they would've been regarded as legendary weapons
@Slantant Rampant Do you honestly believe that a cheap knife made out of garbage materials in some 3rd world factory would impress people 500, 1000 or 2500 years back?
@Slantant Rampant Definitely untrue going back as far the 1st millennium BCE, metal was precious and smiths were highly skilled artisans; there were even steel blades with pattern welds. A secondary technique unrelated to patterns was also used by ancient smith, that idea being making composite knives/swords of different alloys- using a low carbon steel or iron for the back and inner portions of the knife (reducing the chance of breakage) and forge welding a high carbon edge (for better sharpness and holding of an edge).People before us had different limitations, but they weren't stupid.
To be fair, as a person who writes books as a hobby, long projects you're passionate about don't really take patience. We're not waiting for the workpiece to be complete, we're enjoying the process and sometimes sad when it ends. This blade and the craftsmanship is no less commendable, though.
@Slantant Rampant 🤓
@Slantant Rampant 'Dumb Comment' applies more to yours than anything else.
Absolutely amazing, beautiful work.
very beautiful blade, i love the design of the blade and i would like to make these types of blades one day but i don’t have a forge so i make designs and hand file the steel cause i don’t have a bandsaw or belt grinder or even a bench grinder😂but i’m not new nor a master of blade smithing but what types of steels do you recommend for making knives? and i want a recommendation of steels that can be worked with but not soft steel, do you think 1080 would be good steel for knife making?
It’s so much fun watching a master work.
That is by far the most beautiful and well thought out Damascus knife I've ever seen. Hands down. Also, your music playlist was excellent. You should definitely post that for us. Well done sir

You and Bobby White the jeweler should collaborate on a knife. Also check into a Chicago pneumatic air scribe, jewelers use it for riveting, paleontologists use it for breaking rock away from fossils.
I don't really think anyone can top Kyle in making knifes. Absolutely amazing. If I win the lottery one day, I will definitely ask him to make me a knife :)
this knife looks like an family heirloom , good job dude
im trying to remember if ive seen a cooler looking knife before. im pretty sure this is the coolest looking knife ive ever seen. maybe even TOO cool looking to actually use...
My goodness it is a Beauty I would love it so much if I could afford it!I would put it behind glass. You're an artist for sure!!!
I have gotten sucked into watching your content ever since I watched you tirelessly build a dagger for months. I just want to say that your level of craftmanship is absolutely astounding and the methodology to Damascus mosaic textures and attention to detail even finding a flow between the finished plates so that there is no separation is art. But along with the artform you also have attention to the quality of the finished product, a truly usable, durable, and long-lived blade with beautiful and elegant curves that only lend a joist between art and practicality as those curves bare a cutting edge that could never be rivaled by a straight edge. One day, people with a fine pallet of knowledge in knives will be peering through collectables and will stop their eyes on your work and they will ask.... "Is that a Royer I see there?" even if your insignia all but dulls from the metal, they will know your work.
I have no words for this unbelievable craftsmanship, great job
Kyle... I am ALWAYS Mesmerized by your ability to create, design, and produce the "Art" that is your craft! Just amazing sir! Thank you for sharing sir! J
The perfection in your work is gods level an absolute visual feast better than forged in fire. keep posting such videos I subscribed to your Chanel god bless
Outstanding! Masterfully crafted
This was well worth the 33 min, I had no idea how much went into knife making. This was by far one of the best knife making videos I have seen, loved every bit of it. It is a masterpiece!
That is one gorgeous knife. You're a master at your own skill👍🗽🇺🇸☕
I don´t know why the audio and footage weren´t playing at the same time but even with that issue this video is amazing and hypnotising!!
Its absolutely amazing, you are truly a great craftsman
I'd love to purchase a chef knife from you with that design!
How is it that your work keeps getting more spectacular? It must be sorcery.
@SarmonOflynnlook Lil lukhlkullklúlül7
@Attempt it was found in an airtight sheath.
@SarmonOflynn I think there are a few examples of blueing historically, though this practice did not get perfected until 1800-1900. It would not have been common, maybe practically unheard of, but not unimaginable. That said most of his works would not have been out of place in royal treasuries.
@Attempt I'm not a bug weapons guy, so I am not very familiar with historical swords. But if i think of the sword Kyle made a couple of years ago, and particularly the wonderfully deep and unnatural colours of the materials thank to oxidation, I have (in my very limited experience) have a hard time believing that and ancient person would have seen anything of that kind of otherworldly quality.I obviously could be wrong, it was just a feeling I had.
@CommonSense77 That was the one I was thinking of. Though if I recall the reason it was not rusted at all was because it was stored in an incredibly well sealed box.
Du grand art ! c'est magnifique ! Bravo
Anyone have an idea of how much can this knife costs ? It’s an amazing work !
This an amazing and awesome craftsmanship... thats a very2 fine piece of art , Sir .👍👏💯
Subbed! You make some awesome things man! And love the way you make these little fun remarks and faces. Great content, thanks!
I've seen alot of knife making videos. Some even really impressive. This was several tiers above the rest. This is the most beautiful work I've ever seen.
This is the most intricate build I’ve ever watched for the end pattern. I’ve watched ‘intricate’ smithing before but nothing with this result. Loved the watch.
@KyleRoyerKnives Merry Christmas to you and your family as well!
Hey thanks FallenGlad you’re here Merry Christmas my friend Dad
What you have done here is not only beautiful but also unique. This is what I call: "perfect art". I would also like to have some such wonderful knives in my top collection but with your signature on them. Well done!!!👍👍👍👍👍
Okay, I know the sheet metal was removed to not completely incorporate it into the blade, but does it not leave contaminants or were all the different layers still easily separable that early? Also, if you don't want contaminants like sheet metal, how does the metal used to weld work with the build? Would that also be adding a metal to the blade that isn't wanted?
Prolly the best, most beautiful knife I've ever seen
How you don't have at least a Million Subscribers BLOWS MY MIND!! Keep up the Amazing work man I appreciate it.
This is a museum piece, I am not sure who buys your finished pieces but they have an heirloom work of art many generations will enjoy.
This is a work of art you are very talented

Simply amazing!! Your brother has gotten so good at shooting your videos. My wife and I both agree it was not only awesome watching you but watching the video was so nice. Thank you both! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Awe thanks!! -Josh
What a pattern! Beautiful knife and fantastic craftsmanship.
I’m glad you drilled the tang like you did because that’s how i drill my handles on nakiri knives , like a drill bit isn’t supposed to be used lol hey , whatever works! It’s just that much more satisfying when the bit doesn’t break lol
😍😍i am soo in love with the knife imagine that blade sitting on your shelf decorating it absolutely astonishing every person looking at it I want that master pice soo badlyy😭😍
I truly believe that is without a doubt the most insanely beautiful knife that I have ever had the extreme pleasure of laying my eyes upon... VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL.!!! You are very talented brother. Excellent build... I thoroughly enjoyed watching it, and am glad to have found your channel. New sub here my friend.
Your attention to details is remarkable. Also love the filing work and their symmetry on the spacers. Beautiful knife. And the camera work is also great, good angles and shots always sharp, well filmed and put together, kudos as well
So when you plan for how much metal you need for a process like this do you have to account for how much metal is lost with each cut? With that many cuts, it seems like you'd loose a substantial amount
Lindíssima arte.É um conjunto de arte, escultura, modernidade, beleza.Muita riqueza de detalhes.
Awesome, bro. This is a masterpiece!
Not only do you make the most beautiful demascus I've ever seen, but its all intentional! Your the best thats ever done it my friend. What a skill
The quality of your videos has improved so much man. They are much more enjoyable to watch. As always, your work speaks for itself, truly gorgeous piece bud. Keep it up.
I love the videos and the narration, but that background music is so incredibly awful that had had to mute the video for almost half the time I was watching. Please choose something less terrible, or, better yet, no background music at all.
Hey thanks Dave
Hi! I have a question concerning the area which connects tang to blade. You made 90 degree angles there, but I've heard that 90 degree angles should be rounded in order to distribute force evenly. Is there any truth to that or is it nonsense?
wow that's the best build i've ever seen honetly. really incredible.
The design of your knife is completely technical and artistic. good job
Work of art!!! A pure joy finding this channel! Sub hit with pleasure!! Ireland sends many blessings!!!
What a gorgeous knife! I always love seeing what new ideas you’ll come up with for your Damascus patterns.
