America, largely in Chilé, or the Gobi Desert with the Tarim Basin in Central Asia. The Atacama especially rarely sees any rain, sometimes going for several years at a time, yet people have lived in the area there for thousands of years, same for Tarim Basin.

This is so great! I always used to get anxiety in the dark. I've grown very sensitive to light because of my autism, so I couldn't sleep with any lights on either. These videos have really helped me relax in the dark. Now I hardly ever feel anxiety in the dark anymore. I actually feel peaceful. It means such a great deal to me :)

I am listening from Omaha, NE USA where we have MANY thunderstorms, especially in the Spring in April and May! 🌩🌩🌧🌧 I LOVE these sounds at night whilst safe in my warm, dry bed! As a little boy I remember camping (we had a travel trailer that my dad would attach to his 1970's station wagon) and how peaceful and relaxing it would be from inside the trailer, being safe, warm and dry in the small back room with my two brothers (I was the oldest of three boys) listening to the rain as it would fall from the gray skies and hit the roof. This seems to be my main go to, video. Because of this video I get to sleep, this beats all the other videos I try out, it truly is my number one, it gets me asleep 95% of the time of ALL the times when I need to sleep. I'm a survivor of extreme and sustained childhood abuses, I need to hear the lightening and thunder strikes, I need to hear a healthy amount of rain hitting the ground! When god wasn't close enough, a thunderstorm was a much larger power than those horrible humans, their lightening could strike them in a split second, no problem, that's why storms bring me peace, so my body can repair me from my days efforts, recovering from trauma's and remaining mobile and active, so I thank you so very much!👍 You're a diamond.
This has been a wonderful way for me to sleep and has helped me desensitise my youngest cat to the sounds of thunder, she’s no longer scared of thunderstorms
