I'm 60 yo from Malaysia. I'm too old to be a builder, but learning how it's done and the discipline that goes with being a builder gives me a lot of satisfaction and joy. Well done Perkin boys.👋👍
I remember watching this whole project on the 2020 lockdown. Man, it feels nostalgic, those times were just so damn effed up, but your videos made my days much better to handle. Thank you very much for uploading this compressed version.
Wow...Just Wow! I was channel surfing and your video caught my eye. My hats off to you for the huge undertaking of videoing this project from start to finish. I was very impressed to see you guys do almost everything. Most house builders I know just frame and then hire out all the sub trades. I think the way that you do it allows for better quality and control. Loved the honesty of what you failed on inspection. Seems like such a fun group of guys to work with. Well done men!
I was really impressed by the "here are the parts of the initial inspection we failed, and here's how to fix them!" I always love when people show their mistakes and how you avoid or fix them. Really impressive.
I have to agree this guy is an amazing builder I mean he took into consideration of how the sun hits the windows at different times of the year. I mean that's not all but was a big deal to me lop
Very informative and entertaining. Really enjoyed the video and process. Did you use the AG panel for economy? Exposed fasteners on a barn are fine, can be problematic on a custom home. Initial install critical placement, not too loose not too tight or your seal is compromised. Replacing that screw every 10-15 years, who really does that? Installing that self-tapping screw on a virgin surface is a clean seal, replacing that screw down the road, any burr or imperfection is going to compromise that seal. I replaced two (12,000 + 9000 sq.ft.) PBR metal roofs for a cabinet shop with standing seam metal. No exposed fasteners, one and done for 50+ years. PNW weather, snow and ice, no problems. Call it insurance against catastrophic failure. Hey I'm just jealous, you guys are top notch and your video is well produced, forgive the armchair critique.
Wonderful house. Never have watched a video this long but it didn't feel that way. Well done You mentioned a link to rent this I do not see it? Either way great job
I use a heavy gage felt underlayment (pond supply /irrigation supply has it) under the exterior valve box and bring it all the way up the outside. This provides a barrier so moles ect. can’t push up the dirt and cover the shut off valve which will rust. I also like a 8” gravel area under for drainage.
I LOVE YT. You can watch anything you can possibly think of all in one place. This is better than Bob Villa ever was. Definitely earned my sub 10x over.
I've never finished and watched a video this long on KZclip. You guys are so good at what you do. Love the explanations on every steps and definitely, the funny parts. Ya'll are so fun to watch!
My sentiments as well, I never finish long video clips, but on this one I watched it until the end, I think it's got to do with the presentation especially the presenters voice and how they present the video.
@Perkins Builder Brothers N E V E R I will understand why Americans LOVE living BEHIND garages. Why don't they build their houses with the garages 20 feet behind the front door????? The ugliest and stupidest way to build houses!!!
Awesome!. I wish to make hell of money and call you guys to Pakistan to build something never been built before. Keep up the good work. The best thing is body language of the crew as it seems they wish to ease up the owner every possible way. Cheers
Dam, I watched this whole video, and I found myself saying to myself, "I would love to have a home built exactly like this one", and I would love for the same crew to build it. I'm impressed with your home building skill's. You guy's are funny too :>) Once I began watching this video I couldn't stop till the end, it was very fascinating to me!!
WOW So did I...So impressed with the skill level n dedication of the crew, well narrated and edited video, very detailed and finally an awesome product, a beautiful, practical home. I want to live...or stay there!
awsome... 2h watching this without fast-forwarding it ... great job. just have a negative comment ... in europe we never put nails visible ... specialy on furniture ... and you nail everything
I was so excited when I found this series and I am so grateful for every video you guys put out. I'm a Virtual Design and Construction major, but I'm also disabled. Which means that I can't do an internship on a construction site like how all of my classmates do. These videos help me to feel as though I'm not missing out as much. I learn so much from you guys and it helps so much. I'm able to see how the things I am learning are applied on real jobs and that's not something I can do as easily as everyone else. So thank you. Keep being awesome.
Yeah I thought it was supposed to be the death Star. It is totally the death Star. I'm shocked it wasn't built to be the death Star it's awesome! I'm jealous
Haha… I’m 60 but I want to be a builder… wait! You are never to old to learn. I can’t tell you how many doors I have hung over the past 40+ years. Your PRE shim to Plumb the hinge side is new one. Thanks
really nice to see a group of individuals that takes so much pride in their work. and awesome to see you using a drafting table to hand draw that customs door for the client.
can't believe I watched the whole vid. fantastic build, fun, humor excellent results. I'm sure Tina was ecstatic at the completion. Idea love to work with you guys for a year and learn more different innovative techniques. cheers from Oz
Loved the video and how in depth you got with everything! I plan on watching the entire 26 episode series now. I do have a few questions though and you may have answered them in the series. If so, just point me to it! How much did this project cost from start to finish? How long did this project take from breaking ground to furnishing? How many trades did you have to sub out due to license requirements? I know concrete, electrical, and plumbing are some that require a license and proper training, but were there any other one off jobs requiring a licensed professional? I plan on building my own home in the future, and this is great insight into all that goes into a project. Thank you!
My wife and I have spent the last year checking out design and build blogs - you guys are way out in front. The content, honesty and visual references is a testimony to your professionalism, standards and outstanding craftsmanship. The owners of this property chose well, every aspect of this build from the ground up speaks quality and a long lasting legacy. Congratulations - you deserve every success that comes your way. Thank you for posting an excellent instructional record.
I'm only 13, but I want to be a builder when I'm older, and this is giving me a good look into what it's like. Thank you. Great vid Edit: Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it 😁

NOW THAT'S DEFINITELY ONE WAY TO DO IT 😎😎 ABSOLUTELY LOVED WATCHING THE ENTIRE PROCESS. THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS. IT WAS A PLEASURE WATCHING YOU ALL WORK AND ENJOY EACH OTHER'S CAMARADERIE. ❤️
I absolutely love this home. I’ve been wanting to build something similar as a getaway property and for additional income, but the land I inherited is landlocked and it’s been total hell trying to get access to the property even though it has a road built by an oil pipeline company. Can you share the final price if the owners don’t mind. It would be greatly appreciated.
I honestly thought this was one of your team's home because you guys are so detailed and passionate and you are having fun. i wish everyone can have a job they enjoy as you guys.
Well done again, Perkins crew! This was a nice surprise and a very informative two hours! I probably speak for many people but it is wonderful to have you put in the time and effort to make such educational videos for younger carpenters while also letting every viewer know that you can have fun and enjoy all aspects of the craft! Can't wait for the next build.
Great video as always, you really do a beautiful job at documenting the processes and thoughts. Moreover it’s impressive to see the craftsmanship and precision at which you guys work. And something I highly appreciate is to see these longer videos with good progress. Excited to see the next part! Keep going : )
Well that’s one way to do it…… Great video! Long but informative and interesting to see how another crew does things. You guys have a great chemistry that’s hard to beat!
Do you guys always use your truck for an instrument tripod? I'm old school and haven't used lasers much but when leveling with and old fashioned transit they were always placed on a immoveable base usually a tripod. A truck moves when the wind blows. The next time you pull your truck off the job site pay attention to your imprints left behind. On a freshly excavated site that could be inches. Your always preaching doing it right the first time and I agree. To me, the footer and foundation should nothing short of perfect. So should the base for your laser. Stop being a bunch of lazy asses and break out the tripod or do any of you know how to set one up. Ask your dad, he'll know
Please do a follow video explaining all the costs broken down, material, labor, profitability, how to incorporate unstable material costs throughout a build etc!
This video was so entertaining! I’m usually skipping through to get to the “good parts”, but I’m watching this straight through. Thanks for the video!! You guys are awesome… “That’s one way to do it!”
This is a great video! I enjoy watching the build from beginning to end; it seems like you guys all work well together and that you take pride in your work.
I watched this whole series (and ALL of your other videos) and I have to say you did a fantastic job of editing this so that it was still enjoyable and informative to watch a second time in this long format. Great job! Keep up the good work gents. I’ve learned so much from you guys. 👍
Truly amazing work, very well delivered content and super fun to watch! Really enjoyed it! Can't wait for the next one! What would be super valuable is if you could say - what would be the budget required to build this house? A range would help to get an idea. By total, I mean paying builders, materials etc. everything from 0 to Hero. I think this will help a lot of people and me to get an idea of how much savings should get in the bank if you want to execute the plan.
Thank you for one of the most professional, informative and inspiring vids on the building process. We were literally amazed in every step. Thank you. xz
I can't believe I watch the entire video without skipping. I am just hooked up at how well you build the whole house and mostly at the personality of everyone here.
I love the work you all did. I would love to get a project going like your home built in Georgia.i would love if you and your crew would be willing to help me rebuild my home. My home needs it.
AMAZING VIDEO. I have just sat here and watched the whole thing. Was so interesting to watch a home built from the ground up. Awesome work by all you guys, and brilliantly detailed enough to show clueless people like me how it's all done. One of the best videos I've ever watched on KZclip. WELL DONE! HOUSE IS UNREAL TOO ❤️
Wow I love it ! I was wondering how much the entire build cost including labor? I found it quite interesting how you came up with different solutions to unique problems and your custom built pieces, jigs and tools are amazing. Great job guys.
This really is an amazing video. I cannot thank you enough for all the information you provided here and the hard work you obviously put into editing and making it. I laughed out loud many times and really like you joking with the guys and your family members. I watched all two hours straight through. Thank you.
I love watching your videos. I am amazed at the quality of the work and design you put into your projects. I always get new ideas from your build videos. I wish I could find a company with your craftsmanship when I plan to build a new house in my area. You guys are GREAT.
Some of the best building step by step I've seen in a very long time. The right speed, tips, techniques, and comradery. This is loaded with useful and technical information, thanks so much! Congrats on all you good work while documenting it all too! Update now that I've finished: killer job! That place is stunning, and I'm amazed at each turn where you tried to do as much of the work as possible. Serious craftsmanship right there. Great colors inside and out. This is the first video of its kind I've watched all the way through and really took away good points for building. You guys are inspiring and looking forward to seeing more.
Awesome video! Great content. Not once did I feel like I wanted to use the fast forward button. Also you guys make home building an art. I wanted to give you props!
Vacation home...That would be my home! This house is gorgeous. I could easily live there full time. The views are amazing. I would be sitting on the covered patio sipping a big cup of coffee every morning.
WOW I love this video and had so much joy and fun watching your team progress step by step 🤚. The design is wonderful with extra special attention to detail for the viewer to consider when building their own small house. A materials list would be so 👍
I love this video. Well done! Great descriptions and a great mix of humor with detail. Also awesome: you share the fails, even the ones you made yourselves. That may seem silly, but it's really encouraging and refreshing.
Despite watching each house build series in full... always stoked for watching time-lapses or recaps of the same build. Also, sent you guys a message on Instagram and email. Hope you can check it out! Love your stuff man!
@Perkins Builder Brothers All good! I'm just annoyingly persistent and have enjoyed the content you and and the guys make, so wanted to try and contribute a thought or two. lol
Oh man... what a great home in a gorgeous location! You guys are master craftsmen, great teamwork, top quality output, and enjoy giving each other a hard time in words! Thoroughly enjoyed it all, laughed a lot too - thanks a ton!
Simply amazing the tool knowledge and how to use them, also the amount of knowledge they have in construction is simply amazing, this video is better than netflix. Keep up the good work! Greetings from UK.
Loved watching this video! Proud you're from NC! Going to show my students a few clips to drive home the importance of math and awesome work ethic. You did it the right way rather than the way some awful builders do. If you're ever within 45 minutes of the High Point area we would love to visit your work site with a few students interested in building.
I also with my husband bought the land. Ordered the prints. Secured financing. Had the land surveyed and the house sited on the lot. Got the foundation in and ready to roll. I was a DIY girl before all the rest. Loved it! When you get near the end and see it all come together you do feel a great sense of accomplishment! 70 now and still contract small painting, pool decks, bath remodels etc. with a helper for friends and relatives. These men get along so well and work great together. Really enjoyed this Video!
Excellent video!! I watched it all. I learned a few things I wish I knew years ago. 😆 You also confirmed a few things I learned from my dad, carpenters and electricians. Love seeing how you dealt with little weird situations like the angled exterior wall area above the low roof and putting on the stairwell treads. I just did a kitchen remodel and learned so much I wish I knew years ago. I had carpenters build a wall for my bump out and an electrician do my rewiring, but I did everything else.
I never knew I could love a channel this much. I hate a lot of these construction videos and TV shows, because you never see any of the work, but this channel goes into decent detail with explaining everything in painful detail.
Incredible video, I know zero about putting nails into wood and then expecting that wood to stay where I left it, your work is immense, for a guy that lives in a remote location in Scotland where we build houses in brick and concrete block with concrete floors mostly this is a superb insight into how alternative construction methods are being utilised to produce a beautiful home.
I absolutely loved every minute of your video I would love to come and work with you guys it looks like lots of fun. Great job the house is fantastic and stylish and very functional. Great finish. keep building!! I am self building a small cabin in france and took loads of good tips from your film
All of you are Amazing!! The workmenship and prethought you do, well brilliant! I love your videos because uou clearly explain why. If I was building a home I would want you to build it. Thank you!
I had this playing in the background and really enjoyed. Got super excited at the welded posts because I am in the middle of doing the same thing with cable railing for my deck! Just gotta build the dang powder coating oven to finish!
WoW, definitely one of the the best videos of house construction on youtube that i have watched :) keep up the good work, best of luck for the next house, looking forward to seeing that too...
one of the coolest videos i have seen in a long time
I'm 60 yo from Malaysia.
I'm too old to be a builder, but learning how it's done and the discipline that goes with being a builder gives me a lot of satisfaction and joy.
Well done Perkin boys.👋👍
@siniša jakus w22
hahahahahahah
I remember watching this whole project on the 2020 lockdown. Man, it feels nostalgic, those times were just so damn effed up, but your videos made my days much better to handle. Thank you very much for uploading this compressed version.
Loved it watch all of it it turned out fantastic you guys have skills 👏
Wow...Just Wow! I was channel surfing and your video caught my eye. My hats off to you for the huge undertaking of videoing this project from start to finish. I was very impressed to see you guys do almost everything. Most house builders I know just frame and then hire out all the sub trades. Loved the video. The staircase with the wire is dope!
I was really impressed by the "here are the parts of the initial inspection we failed, and here's how to fix them!" I always love when people show their mistakes and how you avoid or fix them. Really impressive.
They weren't mistakes the ibspector is just a government qunut beureaucrat. Probably wanted a bribe.
I have to agree this guy is an amazing builder I mean he took into consideration of how the sun hits the windows at different times of the year. I mean that's not all but was a big deal to me lop
That’s a real craftsman. Lot of new houses are just thrown together with a bare minimum pass on the inspection. This is my dream home
kzclip.net/video/Nv2fxcdzL48/бейне.html
Or the inspectors would have just allowed it as it’s minor and won’t actually be affecting the overall integrity of the house… just a thought
Installing that self-tapping screw on a virgin
surface is a clean seal, replacing that screw down the road, any burr or imperfection is going to compromise that seal.
Well done
You mentioned a link to rent this
I do not see it?
Either way great job
I use a heavy gage felt underlayment (pond supply /irrigation supply has it) under the exterior valve box and bring it all the way up the outside. This provides a barrier so moles ect. can’t push up the dirt and cover the shut off valve which will rust. I also like a 8” gravel area under for drainage.
I LOVE YT. You can watch anything you can possibly think of all in one place.
This is better than Bob Villa ever was. Definitely earned my sub 10x over.

Thanks Rose
Fantastic build, builders and video.
Absolutely beautiful
Awesome!. I wish to make hell of money and call you guys to Pakistan to build something never been built before. Keep up the good work. The best thing is body language of the crew as it seems they wish to ease up the owner every possible way. Cheers
Amazing skills can you share how much the project cost

This one is sick, man!!
I just booked this place on Airbnb for Valentines getaway next year for the wife and I. Super excited, can't wait!!
You guys are great!
Solid team. It's refreshing to see, because around here, it just seems like everyone is trying to scam people out of their life savings
Thanks

Don't think this "shed" is on your sketchy website my dude
Perfect. Good luck👍👍
I stumbled on your channel... nice work
What state was this house built in? Wife and I have been watching and are currently looking to move from Texas to a more green and remote location.
North Carolina
really nice to see a group of individuals that takes so much pride in their work. and awesome to see you using a drafting table to hand draw that customs door for the client.

A good portion of this went over my head, but I can appreciate how detailed oriented y’all are. I’m sure the home owner appreciates it as well.
I really enjoyed watching this! I play The Sims a lot lol, but I probably couldn't do a fraction of what you guys have done here. Great job!

This was awesome! Not too technical, a little fun, and I learned things. Also, this is a very close design to my own house, just seriously upgraded.
I can't believe I watch the entire video without skipping. I am just hooked up at how well you build the whole house and mostly at the personality of everyone here.

I absolutely loved this .. never watched a video this long but it didn't even seem long .. great editing and you guys had lots of fun I can tell.
Man, I feel like I almost built this with you guys! Gave me a sense of pride at the end tour!
Damn, i just watched the whole thing in one sitting and it didn't even feel like 2 hours 😅
Great job on the project. I'm a builder myself
@Cergorach I know right? This would take me at least a week
Yeah, the things they can build these days in two hours! ;-)
Same man
WOW I love this video and had so much joy and fun watching your team progress step by step 🤚. The design is wonderful with extra special attention to detail for the viewer to consider when building their own small house. A materials list would be so 👍
Excellent Job guys. A build video based in reality for a change. Great info as well. A crew with high morale is the caveat. Fun to watch thank you.
Great Job Guys. Was a pleasure to see how this job was done. Thank you.
I'm just annoyingly persistent and have enjoyed the content you and and the guys make, so wanted to try and contribute a thought or two. lol
Hey thanks Paul… sorry I don’t really ever check the Instagram messages I guess
Great job filming, narrating, and editing all this. I really appreciate the detail like what type and size of nails you use. Thanks!
Oh man... what a great home in a gorgeous location!
Amazing build coupled with an amazingly detailed video, 40 years in the trade and I watched every minute!
Hats off guys!!
I love this house! I so wish I could afford something like this. But I’d have one story for me and one story for my father. This is beautiful!
I never knew I could love a channel this much. I hate a lot of these construction videos and TV shows, because you never see any of the work, but this channel goes into decent detail with explaining everything in painful detail.
Crazy cool. You guys turned out a beautiful house. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It was entertaining and instructive.
Just fabulous. Loved every minute of this. So much fun to watch.
the homeowner is so lucky to have a passionate construction team
What software you use for design the house.
You guys did an Amazing job. Striving to be as skilled and crafty. Also awesome attitudes and cohesiveness between crew. Good help is priceless
Thank you for sharing this video to us.. we appreciate the builders behind the build even more
Incredible video, I know zero about putting nails into wood and then expecting that wood to stay where I left it, your work is immense, for a guy that lives in a remote location in Scotland where we build houses in brick and concrete block with concrete floors mostly this is a superb insight into how alternative construction methods are being utilised to produce a beautiful home.
RESPECT for each one of you guys, EXCELLENT job and video, 1000% ! I wish I can work with you guys, same team! :)
Thank you!
Enjoyed watching. The house turned out pretty. I saw your attention to detail. Looked 100% better when you fixed the vented dryer and other.
been in the business 40 years and i love your attention to the little details that most builders don't do or care to do
Super video! So much really good info to remember, and a wonderful finished house. Thanks.
If I had the money, I would hire you guys in an nanosecond. Your skills & workmanship was beyond awesome, Loved it from start to finish!!! ❤️🥳🏴🍾
