@gout from fried okra USMNT can probably beat Barbados, but that is about it. In the World Cup they have real teams, and I am not Italian, but your comments about Italy show that you don't have the slightest idea about soccer, or football for that matter. Italy is not in the World Cup, but they would beat the USA on their worst day.

Uh penalties really aren't that hard technically. Most boring way to win a match really because instead of having chances to prove your skill it's a one off hoping the striker messes it up. Penalties should never be called stunning it devalues the word "stunning". Also kinda a bs penalty also also Kane is shjtty just like werner but germany still do better.

We need Havertz, Gnabry and Sane attacking starting 11. Goretzka and Musiala midfield starting 11. Rüdiger and Gosens defending starting 11.

    • Schnitzel Filmmaker
      Schnitzel Filmmaker 2 ай бұрын

Gosens was so good before, but you guys must not have been paying attention if you think he should be starting over Raum rn lol.
After Raum came off and Gosens replaced him, England scored all their goals and where did each of those attacks start? With whoever Gosens was defending. Within the German fanbase nobody is honest about who performs and who doesn’t, it’s just a bunch of agendas. Nagelsmann vs Flick, Tuchel vs Nagelsmann… it makes no sense. Bayern fans loved Schlotterbeck but the moment he joined BVB he was suddenly “slipperbeck” the most overrated defender in the league. Our agendas make absolutely no sense. Kimmich gets scapegoated, then Goretzka, then Schlotterbeck… for a while Rüdiger was scapegoated in favor of Süle during Rüdiger’s worst days at Chelsea but in the games for Germany he was the only defender performing. Now that Rüdiger’s club form is elite and he’s earned worldwide respect, everyone hates on every other defender. No one actually pays attention to the matches. Does the match actually matter at all? No, but if you make any decisions you have to make them honestly.
Against England, Gosens had the same impact defensively (offensively he’s fine, but his defense has declined dramatically from not playing at Inter) that Jonathan Tah had against the Netherlands in that 2-4 match where he was basically like a hologram and allowed for the opposition to play with an extra man on his side. His performance against Portugal was unreal, but since then he was injured and moved to Inter where he doesn’t play much.

@Raza Hussain he plays a bit deeper, is freer to provide link-up play instead of scoring, and isn’t expected to be the sole finisher. When was the last time you saw Havertz shoot from 20+ yards in a Chelsea uniform? Because he’s always in the box to for Chelsea to receive service, never out that far with room to shoot. But, obviously, he very very good when properly deployed and allowed to showcase his range of talents.

@RINZLR all of what you said is horribly untrue lol, "Football is big in the US" no it isnt and its not even close to American football, NBA, NHL, or MLB and fans dont even show up or sell out MLS games or even international games. "There are plenty of athletic youths playing" no, there are obviously "soccer" leagues, but most kids are trying to play american football and basketball, especially the black population who are very gifted athletes. "it’s simply the culture." True, it is a the culture because theyre raised as "soccer" being more of a female sport and simply dont play it. "Americans are not crazy sports fans like those of football nations (anyone who wants to argue this is probably American lol)" Probably your worst take, and anyone can say "those who argue against it is probably not american." And in fact, just so you know, Americans actually care WAY to much about American sports especially American football and NBA. You think this because other nations only have Football or low tier leagues of other sports like basketball or hockey, that dont compare to the caliber of the NHL, NBA, etc. "football is the world sport because a large portion of the world is poor" This right here is why the US could be great if they cared. It's obviously one of the richest nations in the world so if they actually sank money into "USA Soccer" and gave it all the resources and encouragement to kids to play that all the other sports get, it would be a lot better. But of coarse, how do you make people care? They only want to do something that will make them rich or benefit in there own country. If youre great at both sports would you rather play American football and make 50mil a year, or play in the MLS "soccer" league and make 500k a year? Obviously youre going to choose 50mil.

    • Ray Zhang
      Ray Zhang 2 ай бұрын

@RINZLR That's simply not true. Although soccer is on the rise in the US, I think 4th or 5th most popular at the moment, it's still no where near the big three, aka eggball, boringball, and basketball. If you look at college football and NFL, they have extremely loyal and avid supporters, maybe not to the point of rioting over a sporting event, but still, I wont be surprised if a fight breaks out between bears fans and packers fans or ohio state fans and Michigan fans. So maybe the Americans arent as crazy over soccer. They ARE crazy over some other sports. Soccer just needs more time to catch on in the States, and I think we are on it. Maybe in a couple decades, soccer can grow to some significance in our country, and we can finally have a half decent national team and a couple half decent domestic clubs lol.

      RINZLR 2 ай бұрын

@danglez it’s not about the athletes. Football is big in the US, more than most like to admit. There are plenty of athletic youths playing, it’s simply the culture. Americans are not crazy sports fans like those of football nations (anyone who wants to argue this is probably American lol), so their demand for competitiveness is weak. Not only that, but USA is a rich nation with many rich people, football is the world sport because a large portion of the world is poor, and all that’s needed to play is the ball. USA has a long ways to go before they ever compete.

Ben White in for Maguire and Ramsdale in for Pope....? I'm a neutral but those are the changes that I feel would make England more solid at the back. Getting those pinpoint Ramsdale side volleys up to Kane and Saka for a quick counter might lead to some dangerous situations for opponents who like to press high.
If not White then someone at least give Maguire a rope ladder and teach him some back stepping patterns to practice every day. Seriously it looks like he's just got massive problems keeping his feet coordinated while back peddling. Pretty essential skill for a center back.

That first goal for England was not behind the line, the one against Neuer in 2010 wasn't either. It's always nice to see Maguire and Pope, they were the men of the match for Germany and will ensure England's quick exit from the World Cup.

    Key takeaways:
    1. Jude Bellingham has to start for WC. His box to box play and technical contributions are unmatched. Just look on England's first goal, where he got the ball from the center backs, progressed and gave it to reece, then was back in the box again to challenge the ball.
    2. Maguire needs to go. Don't know if there's team politics with Manchester United but any Tomori, or even Dier, would be much better. Cost England the 1st goal with the pen and 2nd one by losing the ball in midfield. Don't know if he would be better playing off as the center center back, but he cannot match the intesity and quality england need.
    3. Players out of position is wack af, not every winger can play wingback at the same level. Our shaw and james played well but I'd like to see trent in action.
    4. Announce Mark Goldbridge

The England Penalty Shot, had the German Keeper not been jumping around like an idiot, he might not have saved that, but he would have had a much better chance.

Shockingly poor game from Pope, was he high? Genuinely, seemed so slow and unathletic with everything he did. His dives looked like slow motion, and that error at the end was so poor. Start Ramsdale!

@Terence Simms only if those teams come from a 3rd world country with a population of under 20 million. Look at brazil's last 10 wins. 1 country over 20 million and they won 1-0. Pathetic. Should be winning 9-0

    • Steen Temple
      Steen Temple 2 ай бұрын

@Terence Simms brazil is a soccer country there are over 217 million people in Brazil probably around 2/3 try soccer at somewhat. There are 67 million people in England probably around 2/3 try soccer somewhat. The pool for brazil 144 million soccer players, the pool for England 44 million. Just saying the US would probably crush if soccer was it's main sport and there was any money in it but the best athletes in the US do not care about or play soccer.
