Always wear tennis shoes when installing a metal roof to stop slippage AND scratching the new metal roof panels. Really PROUD of ALL of you on your new addition and the roofing. FANTASTIC!!! God is blessing YOU ALL!!!
That was such a great video, well edited and fun to watch. Well done on getting the roof done looks awesome. Looking forward to the 3 large end windows
Consider permanent tie off hooks mounted under the ridge cap.
That’s great you got the roof on, great job Johnson’s! That gonna be a big room and a great root cellar, can’t wait to see it! ✌🏼❤️🙏🏼
I love watching these videos, a great family doing a fantastic build. You'd think you were professional builders even from day one.
You three are doing a great job….it’s really looking fine. Jules tickles me with all her climbing and taking chances, has she ever considered being an “iron worker”?
I drink 4 pots of coffee a day and roast all of it
I love how motivated you guys are. Too many other couples drag their projects for the sake of more videos. Keep it up!!
Safety Sally must be on vacation. 😂 All of you are amazing. I loved coffee but I ended up with a heart condition and they took coffee off the menu for me. I loved it with hazelnut creamer.
Great job Johnson crew! Love watching the progress.
Awesome job ya'll!! The roof really looks good, everything buttoned up, no serious injuries, Safety Sally is a happy camper. Well, except when Jules was shimmying up the trusses not tied off...lol Love ya'll ❤️
Inspiring teamwork from an amazing family. Wow!!
Yall make such a good team together great job!
Great job family on the roof!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Roof looks great and wonderful teamwork with the three of you
For length cuts on metal, I’ve always just scored it and snapped it like drywall. Using the edge of a deck or porch helps.
Thanks for the feedback and expect more videos soon. Send me a text above🔝🔝🔝 I have something for you.....
Loving your family and your progress ❤️
Lady!! You clowning around on the roof gave me heart palpitations :) You're really all doing a great job.
Sometimes a 'c-clamp' clamped onto the edge of a sheet of plywood or OSB, makes a pretty good handle for moving it around in difficult situations.
That is an awesome job, very professional and you can't even tell that it is addition :)I remember commenting last year, asking if you were going to extending the loft. You guys took it to the next level and extended the entire house LOL.
Looking great, nice job y’all!
Really impressed with all the rafter monkeys in your family. Jules "save the coffee" was hilarious.
Happy for you guys, for the progres on your building
Rope and vice-grips in center of osb sheet . Also works for steel roofing to pull it up on the roof.
I made a mistake with rain today, a bit of light drizzle when I set off with the dog. The further I went, the harder it fell, and continued all the way home again. I dripped into the house and the rain edged off and stopped. Thankfully, your day went far better and the roof was done and dusted. I know you are not beginners but, you lack most of the professional teams specials aids, yet you really knocked that one out in short order. Great job.
Just loving every of your videos,a day is not complete without watching them. You and your family efforts are been appreciated.
Awesome job guys👍,, beautiful home with beautiful family inside ♥️
Great job, following your build from South Carolina.
That’s awesome! Thank you!
What a great house for such a great family!!
OMG I was getting heart palpitations watching Jules. Safety Sally must have been passed out somewhere. Love you guys, please stay safe, I’d miss you too much. 👍
She is amazing. I think you should keep her. 😊 I can’t believe that you got all of that done in one day.
That room did not seem that big until it was all roofed. That looks really good. Can't wait to see what you do next. God bless you all.
Hello Johnson family! Everything is looking good & an awesome job & a great day of work!! Your moving right along . I just love your team work that's what it takes! Take care see you next video. I really enjoyed this video. 👋❤🇺🇸🤗🙏🙏
Thank you so much. Your kind comment is very appreciated! Would you mind doing us a favor and share this video?
good looking roof....you all are making great progress on your house
Rock climbing harness! Excellent idea. I was not able to wear the other harness. I was less frightened on a 2 story roof without it.
Great job on the roof Martin,Jules and Seth!!!!! This project is coming along very well. Love your kitties. Thanks for sharing and God bless you.☺️☺️❤️❤️❤️👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It's coming along. Can't wait to the rest of the framing, flashing, windows and that infamous North Idaho weather wrap siding.
Welcome to the "offgrid" Jungle...we got fun and games! Y'all make a great team!!
You guys are doing the builds and I'm getting anxious here 7 seas away . I just want you guys to do well. 🙏
This woman is incredible! God bless you and your family! Many greetings from Germany!
Shouldn't the drip edge go on first, then the ice/water shield lap over to of it?
Not according to my research but I bet either way is fine.
Great job! It's great you have family to help you. Be blessed from Florida!
Great progress! I'm kinda glad you're through with that...scary stuff. The Lord poured the grace out on y'all. 🙌
I love your videos! I live in the same area and we are just starting from scratch. Your videos inspire us and make us laugh! I hope to see you out around town someday so I can say Hi! Thank you for sharing your journey!!
Hope to see you too. You are always invited to come to church with us. m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064478661036&
I’m proud of Seth , he has become a real asset !
WOW!!! You guys hit that right out of the park. A little nervousing watching Jules climbing up and thru, so glad she had Seth to hang onto her. Great job Marty being roped and safely putting on the lining and metal top. That looks absolutely superfantabulous. Thank you for a great share
Thanks for the super kind comment! If you don’t mind would you please share this video?
Good job Johnson family nicely done looks great 😃
I can see you got “Macing” along with you guys again 😊 Anyway, Pak Martin, Bu Julie, Seth and Sarah, you are never stop amaze me with your energy and positivity. Keep it up and I am keep watching you guys. I wish I can go travel to Idaho and give you a hand 😊
thanks for the feedback and expect more videos soon. send me a text above🔝🔝🔝 i have something for you...
Another top video well informed great content make sure you and your family stay safe out there
Very nice Martin it looks Great too don't think I could have done it any better I have metal on my house an garage as well and it is the best way to go. Had a tree limb hit mine a few years only damage I got was it bounced off the roof left a small dent but it don't leak either. Can't wait til the next thing you do to your homestead.
When you need to rip the steel sheets long ways, you can score it and snap it. No saw needed. Even the heavy 100 year steel.
One thing you can do with the metal to cut it is to just use a new blade in a box cutter it scores a good line and you can snap the piece like Sheetrock
I’m glad your doing it your your self and finding more skills it look amazing
Maybe design a coffee "pouch" with a strap so you can carry it around without it trying to fall off of the roof! lol You guys are an inspiration. You make me think I could do this if I wasn't 126 years old. (Ok. I'm only half that.). 😀
Hello great video, just a little info. for the future, when you have to cut steel straight line like that use a utility knife scar it a couple times turn it over bend it it'll snap right on the line, no noise. have done it for many years that way
Jules looks so sure of herself up there on the rafters. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter or at least getting closer. Wo does not drink coffee. Take Care
Wonder how that material used on sheet metal would be if used for small project like a well house as building wrap
Looking good jules with pouch on, a right professional! Love you guys
Risky move, J. But it gets the job done. Way to hang in there. Looks great. Thanks for sharing
Awesome job to you all.
Wow you three make a great team. Martin your wife is one of the hardest working person. She is climbing all over the job a nd is not scared of heights, that's awesome. It all looks great keep up the good work. You are making short work of the addition. Stay safe a nd be well all of you. Bob Bitchin!!
The hole at the bottom of the ladder made me laugh. Great job this week!
Marty... I know Jules is a very capable builder and helper but could you two (and Seth) tether up when scaling the rafters and other heights? 🙂 I recently lost my wife this summer with her 15 year battle with cancer and so I get nervous seeing Jules up there on those rafters knowing now that you never know when your last breath might happen. I know you know where you are going when we leave this Earth, but just sayin... ;-)
So much progress and a very nimble lady nicely done folks 🇬🇧
Safety Sally must have gone into Cardiac Arrest watching Julie and Seth on the roof... . Julie climbing up the joists nearly gave me a heart attack. OMG those cats are so cute...Are you doing gutters? Need the house wrap and windows soon to be dried in. Great job on roof!! Guardian Angel must have been there for sure. Seth's new haircut is great! He is a HUGE asset to you guys and you should be very proud.
Nice job! What gauge metal did you use? Watts was a great help, just like our two mousers...
Thanks. Not sure what the gage is. Sorry.
the three cats I have love those straps and play with them all the time, I thought they were the only ones
A harness is not too expensive for even a small roof job. A broken back is. Glad it was done with no one getting hurt.
Great job guys
very enjoyable video, nicely done . thank you
I drink about 4 cups of coffee every morning. Thank you for sharing another great video. Your home is looking better every day.
Awesome job guys...! Glad that's done...! Kind a scarry there without safety Sally fall equipment thou... I drink coffee and hot chocolate both...! Yes Start your own coffee roast...!
GREAT JOB IT LOOKS BEAUTIFUL GOD BLESS
Kittens are growing up so fast 😺 love 😻 them
I think you not only need roofing on, but all siding up and windows/doors in to be considered 'dried in'. You still have way too many ways for water to get into your living area, particularly horizontal rains or even 30 degree angle rains. Also wondering if you used the special grommeted steel roofing screws since you showed none of the roofing install close up.
Addition coming along nicely. We have to watch our Boston Terrier too. She like to climb ladders and whatever else also.
I know you could build the trusses yourselves, I'm wondering if you will make them yourself on a future expansion? Luv ALL your projects.
All building materials are of the kind of fabricated ones. Amazing. 👍👍👍
Okay so I held my breath enough for one day. Lol. Jules you’re very brave dear girl. Blessings 💕🙏🏻💕
😮gave me shivers to watch those monkeys! Yes! I love coffee! Organic maybe? 😋
God bless you on your work // good job
Yes the galvanized metal with a little overhang is the best
Kodo's to the three of you for getting the job done 👍 There's no way you would see me up there don't like height's.
P.S. I suggest put some plastic up on gable end and exposed wall to keep the wind and rain out. If that's possible??
They make a battery snipping tool that also works really well
Thanks for the feedback and expect more videos soon. Send me a text above🔝🔝🔝 I have something for you...........
Great video good to see y'all
It would of been nice if the tractor bucket could of reached up that high with the sheeting
Well done on getting the roof done before the rain.
Thanks for the feedback and expect more videos soon. Send me a text above🔝🔝🔝 I have something for you........
Awesome job!!! 🤗❤👍
Great job you all
Awesome job 👍
I think you should come out with you’re own coffee and try and blend it with pine nuts since you’re off grid it could be a cool selling point
Roof work is dangerous, but house needs to stay dry lol 😁
I love coffee, hot and strong. Oh my goodness be careful. 😊 so glad to see Martin being tied on.
Should’ve OSBed the house and wrapped it. Can only do so much in a day though
The edge color tells the cashier at Home Depot what you bought. The colors are on a list.
great video as always, and yes, we have our coffee every morning.
Tried different shoes to get on metal roof found fila slip resistant shoes they work great. 👍🙏
Great job guys, Brandi loves coffee she will buy some 😊
When measuring your 17' the ice and water shield has markings on it. Looks like 6 or 12" increments. Same for poly on the inside. No need to measure.
