Right??? I definitely didn't mind his voice on this one, granted there's no full sentences line yet but so far even if it just his voice (which I think isn't all) but it doesn't feel as jarring as on the teaser!
In this trailer it looks like Chris put more of an effort to not sound like himself and I’m really glad about that. The problem was sit just sound like him or like Emmet from The Lego Movie. Not a Mario voice. So I see the improvement. I hope as the movie goes on he sounds more like Mario.
I LOVE that the Mario movie is having an action-comedy type vibes for the whole movie! Love the action-packed fun for EVERYONE vibes that anyone of all ages can watch and enjoy. Something along the likes of Star Wars and Indiana Jones.

They have a bunch of references from the previous Mario games and everything. And we get to see what Cranky Kong, Donkey Kong, and Peach looks like in the movie and everything. I love it a lot. Illumination did a great job. As a Mario Boy, I’m excited to see this movie extremely.

They’re not even "references" at all, they're ALL aspects of Mario's world from the games so they would NATURALLY be apart of Mario’s world in the mushroom kingdom as they are just things there.

@Angel Santos You're right, as an origin story I'm fine with Mario being clumsy and not knowing his way around the world. But it's the dichotomy between Mario and Peach in the trailer that mimics every single other modern movie -- like Free Guy, or Guns Akimbo, or White Elephant, or Red Notice, or The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, or Love and Monsters, or... well you get the picture. Peach is depicted as the strong capable action heroine, and Mario, the klutz. if Peach was still more like Peach -- depicted as capable, but also more traditional without the girlboss trope attached, it actually would have made it more original. Mario could still be a klutz, but Peach being more passive could have still been used to play for laughs. But obviously, you can't have characters like that in today's media.

I had this theory before, and this trailer actually strengthens it. I think this movie is going to make a distinction between "Jumpman" Mario of the original Donkey Kong games and the Mario that we know today. In face, I'll go as far as to say that I think Jumpman is going to be Mario's father, and that's why everybody seems to know who Mario is. Here's what's up. Jumpman is a construction worker who happened to have a bout with the original Donkey Kong (now Kranky Kong), but eventually established peace between the Mushroom Kingdom and... the Kong Kingdom? Idk. Anyway, Jumpman disappears and becomes a being of legend, but not before having Mario and Luigi, who end up becoming professional plumber under the "Super Mario Bros" name. Here's my biggest stretch, though. I think Peace is going to be the one who forces Mario and Luigi into the Mushroom Kingdom. After hearing about the rumor that Jumpman may have living heirs, she will search out and find them, then bring them to the Mushroom Kingdom to help protect them from Bowser. Idk though, I'm pulling most of this outta my ass

Dude, this looks SO GOOD! Charlie Day as Luigi sounds GREAT, and Chris Pratt as Mario actually sounds better now that we have more material seen! I think I noticed Kiddy Kong and Diddy Kong around Funky Kong during the Mario Kart scene, and when Mario is about to attack Donkey Kong, his pose in the air looks VERY similar to his artwork in the “Everyone is here!” poster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! I was actually CHEERING when I saw Fire Peach, Tanooki Mario, the Yoshis, how Donkey Kong looks like his original arcade design (as well as his early concept artwork for Donkey Kong Country), and how Peach’s fighting and personality is similar to how she was portrayed in the Super Mario Adventures Nintendo Power comics (which was how she was rumored to be portrayed in the movie 3 years ago)! I’m *DEFINITELY* going to see this in Dolby Cinema, if possible! And since my Mom enjoys other Illumination movies (mostly Despicable Me and Minions), she might enjoy it as well, even though she doesn’t know much about Mario, since she already really likes the style!

This is so hype, there's so much to take in with this trailer and i love it, i also really like the twist they are doing this time making peach the badass instead of mario which makes sense since mario and luigi just came to this world so they havient been fighting much if at all, idk why but seeing peach use the fire flower was pretty hype to.
The Kongs are probably an entirely seperate kingdom from the Mushroom Kingdom since we see on the map an area that looks like the arena where Mario and DK are fighting. Cranky must be the King of this Kingdom since he has a much bigger throne than Peach, who probably, since she's royalty, gets to sit in the guest chair. My theory is Mario, Peach and Toad are traveling, trying to recruit people to stop Bowser. The Kongs agree to join them if they defeat their strongest champion aka Donkey Kong.
Just like me with the first trailer, i end semi-completing Galaxy (i will playing it again with Luigi later next year) after watching the first trailer so if you can enjoy them sir, they're great games (Especially Galaxy ✨).

I was so pleasantly surprised by the first trailer and even more so by this second one, absolutely loved them between all the references, the stunning visuals, Jack Black and Charlie Day killing it, badass Peach etc.!
This film looks so unbelievably beautiful and precious, packed with classic Mario characters and Bowser reminds me of Pete from the Goofy cartoons and I love him for it.
Okay the first trailer left a lot of questions unanswered, but sweet jesus this one just slammed it out of the park. Pratt's Mario voice is starting to grow on me, but some stuff still seems a bit odd. However, Jack Black's Bowser is perfect, and Charlie Day definitely works as Luigi. Anya as Peach works surprisingly well, and giving her the take charge attitude is brilliant. Then they drop the Mario Kart bombshell, and that's it. I'm sold.
I love that in this movie Peach will be coming along on the mission too. Even if she wasn't getting captured, they could have still done little with her character, like have her give Mario his mission and that's it. I think that this movie is going to be pretty damn awesome, and the animation is beautiful

Whether it's going to be a good film or not, the trailers convinced me that the people working on it actually care about Mario games, so the movie I feel like is going to be enjoyable for me at minimum through the fanservice alone. Illumination Studios is NOT the "StAndArD nOw" in the slightest, the MAIN reason for why this Mario movie looks so fantastic now is because Nintendo is mainly doing all the work and have the MOST creative control, you're not making ANY sense by not getting that at all here. Liked the trailer, really great looking. Excited to see it, These trailers have been surprisingly reigned-in but I'm glad, it feels like they're trying not to ruin the whole movie like a lot of trailers do lmao. Like I'm pretty sure they are showing some scenes that are late in the movie (like the Mario Kart scene) but we still don't know how all of them connect. Still no sight of Foreman Spike either, we got like one shot of Mario and Luigi in the "real world" but nothing else. Chris Pratt is Crisp Rat, but I really don't mind as much as some people mean to, for the tone of the movie he's doing the "everyman" thing, he works.
I can't wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us in the movies! And it could be a film that will predict Nintendo's future development. I would also like to see a Legend of Zelda movie.

I’m hoping they will reveal a new Mario Kart or some other big Mario game in the February Direct, just two months before the movie comes out. It would be a perfect way to capitalize on the excitement which will surely be even higher by that time. @AlterApp The voice is fine for mario and the voice is extremely fitting for Luigi and rest of the cast, the trailer looks fantastic, I have no doubt the movie is going to be a masterpiece. Let's move on. And Luigi was WAY more defined and had ALOT more character in the games than Mario ever did as it portrayed him as a scaredy cat whose afraid to do extreme things but gets pushed along to do so by Mario and for the greater good. Saying that LUIGI lacks any character in the games is a fantastic way to say you weren't paying attention to him in how he was characterized.

The fans still protest. I believe (and I haven't seen this movie yet) that the super mario bros movie will be my favorite movie of all time. Mario is the most infamous video game charater of all time. Playing mario games throughout my childhood has made me love this character and all the other characters like Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Donkey Kong etc. Everyone of all ages and background either know who mario is and what he looks and sounds like. I NEVER BEEN SO PUMPED UP FOR A MOVIE IN MY LIFE. I believe this movie will make well over a billion dollars in the box office!

@Angel Santos You're right, as an origin story I'm fine with Mario being clumsy and not knowing his way around the world. But it's the dichotomy between Mario and Peach in the trailer that mimics every single other modern movie -- like Free Guy, or Guns Akimbo, or White Elephant, or Red Notice, or The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, or Love and Monsters, or... well you get the picture.
Peach is depicted as the strong capable action heroine, and Mario, the klutz. if Peach was still more like Peach -- depicted as capable, but also more traditional without the girlboss trope attached, it actually would have made it more original. Mario could still be a klutz, but Peach being more passive could have still been used to play for laughs. But obviously, you can't have characters like that in today's media.

I have to be honest, I wasn't very hyped for this movie, I thought it was going to be difficult to move Mario from the videogames to the movies, but actually after watching the trailer, I'm crying, Mario is my childhood, and watching this trailer with so many references to all the the videogames makes me so happy, now I can't wait to see it next year

I had this theory before, and this trailer actually strengthens it. I think this movie is going to make a distinction between "Jumpman" Mario of the original Donkey Kong games and the Mario that we know today. In face, I'll go as far as to say that I think Jumpman is going to be Mario's father, and that's why everybody seems to know who Mario is. Here's what's up. Jumpman is a construction worker who happened to have a bout with the original Donkey Kong (now Kranky Kong), but eventually established peace between the Mushroom Kingdom and... the Kong Kingdom? Idk. Anyway, Jumpman disappears and becomes a being of legend, but not before having Mario and Luigi, who end up becoming professional plumber under the "Super Mario Bros" name. Here's my biggest stretch, though. I think Peace is going to be the one who forces Mario and Luigi into the Mushroom Kingdom. After hearing about the rumor that Jumpman may have living heirs, she will search out and find them, then bring them to the Mushroom Kingdom to help protect them from Bowser.

Dude, this looks SO GOOD! Charlie Day as Luigi sounds GREAT, and Chris Pratt as Mario actually sounds better now that we have more material seen! I think I noticed Kiddy Kong and Diddy Kong around Funky Kong during the Mario Kart scene, and when Mario is about to attack Donkey Kong, his pose in the air looks VERY similar to his artwork in the “Everyone is here!” poster for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! I was actually CHEERING when I saw Fire Peach, Tanooki Mario, the Yoshis, how Donkey Kong looks like his original arcade design (as well as his early concept artwork for Donkey Kong Country), and how Peach’s fighting and personality is similar to how she was portrayed in the Super Mario Adventures Nintendo Power comics (which was how she was rumored to be portrayed in the movie 3 years ago)! I’m *DEFINITELY* going to see this in Dolby Cinema, if possible! And since my Mom enjoys other Illumination movies (mostly Despicable Me and Minions), she might enjoy it as well, even though she doesn’t know much about Mario, since she already really likes the style!

The Kongs are probably an entirely seperate kingdom from the Mushroom Kingdom since we see on the map an area that looks like the arena where Mario and DK are fighting. Cranky must be the King of this Kingdom since he has a much bigger throne than Peach, who probably, since she's royalty, gets to sit in the guest chair.
My theory is Mario, Peach and Toad are traveling, trying to recruit people to stop Bowser. The Kongs agree to join them if they defeat their strongest champion aka Donkey Kong.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the first trailer and even more so by this second one, absolutely loved them between all the references, the stunning visuals, Jack Black and Charlie Day killing it, badass Peach etc.!
This film looks so unbelievably beautiful and precious, packed with classic Mario characters and Bowser reminds me of Pete from the Goofy cartoons and I love him for it.
Okay the first trailer left a lot of questions unanswered, but sweet jesus this one just slammed it out of the park. Pratt's Mario voice is starting to grow on me, but some stuff still seems a bit odd. However, Jack Black's Bowser is perfect, and Charlie Day definitely works as Luigi. Anya as Peach works surprisingly well, and giving her the take charge attitude is brilliant. Then they drop the Mario Kart bombshell, and that's it. I'm sold.

Whether it's going to be a good film or not, the trailers convinced me that the people working on it actually care about Mario games, so the movie I feel like is going to be enjoyable for me at minimum through the fanservice alone. Illumination Studios is NOT the "StAndArD nOw" in the slightest, the MAIN reason for why this Mario movie looks so fantastic now is because Nintendo is mainly doing all the work and have the MOST creative control, you're not making ANY sense by not getting that at all here.
And lol Pixar and Disney does NOT have "maNy fLOpS" in the slightest, "strange world" isn't pixar AT ALL, you've just made that up and that's prove you don't know what you're talking about. And Lightyear is just ONE example of a movie that didn't do the best, all the rest of Pixar's film list has done pretty great with an amazing reception. Pixar and Disney makes fantastic movies that don't do the best finically but they're still fantastic movies, money isn't the standard for which people should be judging a movie at all. Liked the trailer, really great looking. Excited to see it, These trailers have been surprisingly reigned-in but I'm glad, it feels like they're trying not to ruin the whole movie like a lot of trailers do lmao. Like I'm pretty sure they are showing some scenes that are late in the movie (like the Mario Kart scene) but we still don't know how all of them connect. Still no sight of Foreman Spike either, we got like one shot of Mario and Luigi in the "real world" but nothing else.
Chris Pratt is Crisp Rat, but I really don't mind as much as some people mean to, for the tone of the movie he's doing the "everyman" thing, he works.
I can't wait to see what Nintendo has in store for us in the movies!
And it could be a film that will predict Nintendo's future development.

I’m hoping they will reveal a new Mario Kart or some other big Mario game in the February Direct, just two months before the movie comes out. It would be a perfect way to capitalize on the excitement which will surely be even higher by that time. The karts in the trailer have far more detail than what we have seen in any of the games, that is also very suspicious!

And Luigi was WAY more defined and had ALOT more character in the games than Mario ever did as it portrayed him as a scaredy cat whose afraid to do extreme things but gets pushed along to do so by Mario and for the greater good. Saying that LUIGI lacks any character in the games is a fantastic way to say you weren't paying attention to him in how he was characterized.
@Ethan Atkins What I find kind of hilarious, and sort of hypocritical in regards to peoples comments talking about Chris' voice though, is that everyone is bitching and moaning about him sounding nothing like Mario and saying that he sounds just like Chris himself. Yet you hardly ever see any scorn being directed at Charlie Day for playing Mario and using his normal speaking voice as well. And peoples retort to objections like mine is that it "fits Luigi's personality" so.. ok sure, but then what the hell is Mario's personality supposed to be? Brave? Courageous? Fuckin... any stereotypical good protagonist trait that you'd want a hero to have? Is that it? Because well... I think that's our reason there. That's why people are so worked up and indecisive about their own feelings towards Chris is because they don't know what kind of personality Mario even has, he was never really a defined character, and despite Nintendo literally deciding themselves to cast Chris, knowing what would likely be best for their character in a movie that expands on him with a more serious and grounded tone. The fans still protest. Again Mario and Luigi in the games were never that distinctive and were always kind of samey, and I think people don't know exactly how this change is important to the movie and should stop being so fuckin exasperate and fussy. I mean wtf... why does everyone have it out for Chris jesus christ... And I know I'm not alone in thinking that the casting of someone like Chris was likely intentional to make things more... I believe (and I haven't seen this movie yet) that the super mario bros movie will be my favorite movie of all time. Mario is the most infamous video game charater of all time. Playing mario games throughout my childhood has made me love this character and all the other characters like Luigi, Bowser, Peach, Donkey Kong etc. Everyone of all ages and background either know who mario is and what he looks and sounds like. I NEVER BEEN SO PUMPED UP FOR A MOVIE IN MY LIFE. I believe this movie will make well over a billion dollars in the box office!
