@GoldBanks60 Have you really watch the show? Cersei would rather die than surrender. Of course she wanted to live, as a queen not as a prisoner. I'm talking about how she "whimpers" in the face of death as mostly young person do compared to very old people like Olenna who already accepted and waiting for death to come.

    • GoldBanks60
      GoldBanks60 21 күн бұрын

@Adrian Javier If she truly wanted to live, she should have surrendered to Daenerys as soon as she found out she had Dragons. Daenerys would have may let her go back to Casterly Rock with Jaime.

Thats the beauty of this mess. In the end, Lady Olenna did won (yes she lost her house) by rubbing Cersei's face, that she started the downfall of the lannister! Cersei blindness and arrogance (also stupidity) continue her own downfall. Both Houses are destroyed and nobody won actually the war! The tyrells never were humiliated like house martell, and didnt suffer Cersei anger (like septa unella and Ellaria). Plus none of them suffer, unlike Cersei kids or even her father. And we go even further... House tyrell will be remembered to be the kindest house, that helped the poor ones, and margaery will always be the queen that cared about the poor!

Jaime constantly shows how he’s not the sick monster that everyone thinks he is. Instead of killing her in a brutally painful and public humiliating way like his sister definitely would have done he made sure that her death was quick and painless so she wouldn’t suffer and be dishonored or publicly shamed.

The end also speaks to Jaime's evolved maturity. Old Jaime would maybe have leaped over the table and gutted Olenna slowly like a fish, or gotten guards to do it, so that she _would_ feel pain in her last moments. But that would make him more like Cersei. Instead, new Jaime just resigned himself to the fate he had promised her, and left. In holding back, Jaime acknowledged that Olenna got the last shot over him, but kept his honour and dignity.

What I really love about this scene is how Olenna just grabs hold of the glass and without a moments hesitation, knocks the entire thing back in one go, then a hand to her mouth in a seconds thought of what she's done before spitting out some brutal truth that Jamie can now do nothing about. What an absolute boss.

"You love her. You really do love her. You poor fool. She'll be the end of you". Not only the confession but the entire interaction reflects on how much of a tormented soul Jaime is.Or rather, he's always been. He is in a prison of his own sense of duty. It's only fitting Jaime gives a nod to the Young Wolf when talking about learning from his mistakes. Many a callbacks. That scene's worth ten tyrell battle scenes to me. When Olenna says "I want her to know it was me" there's a tiny second when Jaime looks at his sword but then thinks better of it. You can see his expression turn from momentary rage to dejection as he decides to walk away. It's almost like his spirit leaving his body. Nik executes that as perfectly as can be. Both of them do a phenomenal job. This was an epic way for Diana Rigg to exit stage left.

One of the best scenes in the show. Diana Rigg absolutely killed it. That coquette look she gives Jaime when she asks him "how will it be", and he replies to her in a similar playful vein. There's no real animosity between them, just two players arriving at the end of their match. Only then she makes one final move.

I think another reason he reacted so coldly and calm after finding out she was the one that poisoned him, was because he knew that joffery needed to die. He wasn't fit to be king and was going to be the death of his whole bloodline. But as a king slayer, and the boys father (regardless how unfatherly he felt towards him) he had a duty to joffery. I believe deep down, Jaime was contempt with joffery being killed, just not exactly in the manner to which he had been done.

This is especially awesome because of one usually unnoticed detail: Jaime could've pulled his sword out and tortured her immediately, dismembering her or something, but she knew his nature and knew that he wouldn't do it/think of it in time. If it was Cersei there instead of Jaime, with her vile/cruel/blood-thirsty personality she would have thought of it in seconds, I think we can safely assume she asked her self "what if" and imagined all the ways she could have made her suffer in the aftermath. This pushes the posterior conflict between the two Lannisters even further. Olenna wrecked havoc while ensuring she got her way, even when dying. An absolute baddie
