After watching this after the finale I can only say this "there are no evil villains, just misunderstood one's." Yes I butchered that poorly but you get my point
It’s astonishing how much soul and expression Alan puts into the simplest stick figures. It’s honestly encouraging for young artists, many can relate to starting out with stick figures but Alan shows how complex we can utilize these designs in story and animation.
Its such a simple and easy way to start out a dream! Another good one is the community channel Hyun's Dojo, its not episodes like Alan's but multiple different concepts regarding indie animation. Whenever I watch my fav videos from both channels it makes me so excited and in love by how much passion and fun these people create that it makes me want to learn seriously too!
i like how you can see actual dialogue when they sing. like how green says "thank you very much", when leaving the cave, and a lil "thank you!" while leaving the village. at least, that's what it feels like he's saying lol
This has to be my absolute favorite episode with the signing of the note blocks. The sound design is remarkable. You not only made sound like a wonderful song but you managed to essentially create a language that the viewer can understand. I have watched your talents grow over the years since the original Animator vs. Animation you amazing to see how far you've come in your talent.
I love how each scene has its different genre which matches perfectly to each one!! *And also feeling like a fever dream honestly Animals 0:01 for kid friendly tunes like in kindergarten (*realizing it was perfect intorduction to the rest of the music that gets progressively intricate) Zombies 1:26 electric jazz(?) since their undead so very chill both literally and figuratively I guess. *Purple's way of moving forward is just like the zombies, loose and flimsy. Is it because thats how zombies move since their limbs dont work as well coordinated compared to the living like the animals and people? The Village 2:58 as actual musically performances, I love how they threw the note block since they know full well Green's a stick figure 'human' with a voice just that we nor Green knew till now! (*Love how the first villager we see goes in his house then goes back out just to perform the musical perfectly) Has no one noticed that at 4:35 the villagers surround Green in like a heart shape? Omg the Wandering Trader 5:13 for silly upbeat seller-mode with slight rugged 'voice' music was fun, sad to see it was interrupted tho.. (*I'm adding a lot of edits but that just shows how this episode is by far my most favorite and I wanted to add that out of all the musicals in the video, Wandering Trader has THE most closest to sounding like an actual voice instead of a note) The llama's as backup tunes are so cute and cool I adore the beginning of their part. 5:27 Wandering Trader just yeets out the leads just so he could negotiate without being pulled or pulling his llama companions 😂 small detail and not that amazing but I still find it cool! There are a couple videos that have put fan-lyrics on this video and I'd like to try my version too soon! *Edit Green trying to reach Purple from across each other was beautiful and sad, especially later on at the mountain top, Purple's distance and disruption to Green's melodic questioning (*which I realize is a soft tone so Green was just trying to understand Purple). Purple was exhausted, betrayed and overwhelmed. Suffered and was alone... until now!
It's so interesting that, up until Purple (and the trader), everyone in this world makes Green talk their way before they're willing to be helpful, whereas with Purple, Green just had to listen.
Ok, can we just talk about this man's MAD legacy? This episode alone has already inserted dark lore that tugs at our heart strings, and all that was BEFORE the avalanche of fan made lyrics for the damn thing. You, Alan Becker, are a blessed, talented, underrated, underappreciated, infinitely creative role model that the world simply cannot have enough of. We need more people like you
Nah man, we don’t more people like him, cuz he would just be so unfairly superior to anyone who tries to take or follow his everlasting rule as animator, director and writer
@VÍTOR SOARES Sure he gets a lot of views but you never hear or see anyone ever talk about him and his work. And subscriber-wise he is very underappreciated when you compare him to multiple others that are higher than him.
Yeah, but Netflix would probably do to Alan Becket’s work what Disney did to its latest movies: take the phrase “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, ignore it like a mother ignores her middle child and f**k up everything
The tonal whiplash I got from watching a massively suspenseful, badass, and awesome fight scene to animals Disney princess singing while flying around just absolutely killed me.
This went from just a simple stick figure destroying his pc to a storyline with lore and has all the features of a movie, betrayal, sadness, adventure, and action which makes this a great series. My respects Alan, you deserve a Netflix show
BRUH you are so right! This is what my idea would be if Alan did get a movie about AVM *Animation Vs Minecraft: THE MOVIE* With all the episodes in order.
I can understand how Purple's father (navy blue) wanted his son to be tough, to be ready for life, but he crossed the line and even dismissed his wife's opinions, to the point where they divorced. Parenting gone wrong can lead disasters, and this ain't even an exaggeration.
5:14 Trader Jam: Hey, there something you wanna buy? Fish or water, do you wanna buy? Come on man, don’t be shy Anything you wanna buy now? I’ll sell it now for half Think it as a little treat I also got some mushrooms If you want a little feast You’re looking green some flowers can decorate your hair I got anything you’ll ever need Want some blocks, they come straight from the sea 1 or 2, 3 4 or maybe some more? Please buuuy My green guuuy I got blocks, of all, the different, ki-inds Buy my wares or I-’ll might just d-
I love how the villagers and green have instruments in their voice. Green is a clarinet, the right villager at 3:57 is a trumpet, and the left villager at 4:00 is an alto saxophone. Cool stuff!
I put off watching this forever, and now I realize that was a mistake. Amazing work Alan Becker, Aaron Grooves, Scott Buckley and everyone else. Subscribed.
This episode was beautiful. The tone I got from it was that all of the things Green encountered on their way was helping them turn their musical eloquence into a way of communicating, so that they could properly talk to and redeem Purple. All the emotion without a single word spoken!
@Düker Azhara in my opinion, it is easy to do, but hard to get _this good_ you can use visuals to explain things that you cant with words, but it is incredibly hard to make your visuals this clear and impactful
5:15 las llamas haciendo beatbox me tomaron por sorpresa jajaj dato curioso ese beat es echo por alan si que tiene ritmo! sigue asi tus episodios son cada vez mas geniales !
It’s difficult, but it’s possible. Something like this usually takes animation tools, practice, lots of time, commitment, and help. Anyone can animate, even without some of these if they’re determined enough. Watch Alan Becker’s first videos. He started with very little.
Alan Becker is a remarkable storyteller. Conveying a story not through words but through elements of a pre-existing particle that was used differently than intended. Truly one of the best examples of “Show Not Tell” and he already did this with the many other animations revolving around the same characters and artstyle he’d done before.
Honestly, that cliffhanger gives off the vibes of _"Purple does something worse"_ Can't believe you guys' talent when it comes to stick figure animation + Minecraft, every episode just keeps getting better and better!!! Incredible video!!
I really, TRULY, hope not, at least not intentionally. If he intentionally wastes an opportunity to atone, especially since it was given by the one most critical of him, I don't see him ever truly being redeemable. Not to say EVERY antagonist needs redemption, or even deserves it, but Purple definitely comes across as lost and torn. He's done horrible things that need to be made up for, but he's not past the point of no return. Actively Pissing away this chance would just seal his fate.
Let me just say, Alan's team is becoming an independent animation studio. This is quality beyond what you expect from KZclip. I can't wait to see what's planned for Episode 30.
@Jesus Saves! If you think depression and suicidal thoughts can be cured by believing in funni sky man, you are a *terrible person.* What about Christians who commit suicide and have depression? Shut up. You don't even have evidence.
What's really impressive to me is that Alan Becker is still improving his craft with each new video. A lot of content creators, once they have a series with an established audience, get "complacent" in terms of just rehashing the same old formula for each new work they put out. But each of Becker's videos feature some new unique element. This time I was especially impressed by that 3D violin sequence.
I know you guys are gonna hate me for this but I wish purple starts to destroy the world because he wants to get revenge from everyone and king orange agrees to help tsc. But then I want purple and king orange to team up again
The zombies remember me the Monster Cat (By the way, i recommend Dion Timmer - Shiawase) Edit: I forgot to say that the glide is the music that the zombies remember me of
As a musician who's been a fan of this channel for a while, this made me so unbelievably happy. The way you explained the story and trauma through the musical styles was unbelievably amazing, and the payoff felt so much more emotional than if they conveyed things through words. This is truly a masterpiece, especially with the new visual styles. This music allowed me to feel even more emotionally attached to the story, and I'm more excited than ever for it's conclusion. (Not in an "it's almost over FINALLY kind of way," but an "excited to see where this all leads to and what the final act is going to look like)"
I did something else, even though there's no words to the instruments. I added the words, honestly didn't do to bad with depicting what was being spoken. Despite not having actual verbal communication.
I want to just mention how in today's day in age, the fact that Alan is able to tell a story without any actual vocals, but through both animations and in this case music which is extraordinary on various levels, he truly is in a tier of his own along side greats such as Beethoven when you look at what's he's been able to accomplish in stick figure animation alone.
wow… this story, made of stick figures, a block game, and creativity is so deep and so intricate… it’s amazing how a group of people can do this, how you guys can convey a message so well by such simple terms seeing purple’s story… that gave me chills. this whole story gives me chills, but purple’s background hit me hard. been here for so long, almost since the start of the first animator vs animation, and it’s been a wild ride. keep it up, Alan and co
I'm speechless. It's hard to imagine this video being in the same series as the rest of the Animation vs. Minecraft series. By far, this is the best. Its so well built, it just feels very sad, and how you used the music to make the emotions more elevated is just so unimaginably good. You and your team have come so far, I am excited to see more of this in the future. I think it's just so crazy that you could come up with this idea, and how Green, the one who has hated purple the most, understands his pain and helps him to defeat the evil orange king. The way that you told the story is just so... so impressive. I am actually crying right now.
@Twilight Star Maybe Green is just curious of why Purple did that, Purple couldn't be just doing this for no reason, but Blue simply doesn't kind of care.
I’m really surprised that I found myself crying at the end of this too. Seeing Purple break down and open up to Green, then them comforting each other and teaming up, it just touched something in me. I’m confused on one thing though. My memory is poor and I’ve forgotten many of the earlier episodes since it’s been so long. Why did Green hate Purple the most? If anything, wouldn’t Green and Blue equally hate them, since they were both ditched in the End dimension?
I didn't manage to make it for the premier, but that doesn't stop this work from being an absolute masterpiece. People have talked about the amazing storytelling here already, but there's not as much recognition for the masterful composition of music demonstrated in this animation short. The diversity in musical styles combined with an enriched film-like scoring for emotional and dramatic scenes really pulls the whole thing together. What an inspiration. Kudos to the team!

Hello Alan
Just a question alan if purple was a girl would green and purple be bf and gf?
Who knew Minecraft noteblocks could create an amazing backstory. Can’t wait for the finale.

@Pyrite Pirate39 yes.
After watching this after the finale I can only say this "there are no evil villains, just misunderstood one's."

an actual masterpiece with storytelling through music, couldn’t ask for anything better
It blows me away just how much character and emotion this man can put into a stick figure.
Yeah
❤️
@💚ItsLiakelgato😺 technically you can understand by there movements and images, but still yeah!
I love when all the things make music
Yes, right
I love how each scene has its different genre which matches perfectly to each one!! *And also feeling like a fever dream honestly
Animals 0:01 for kid friendly tunes like in kindergarten (*realizing it was perfect intorduction to the rest of the music that gets progressively intricate)
Zombies 1:26 electric jazz(?) since their undead so very chill both literally and figuratively I guess. *Purple's way of moving forward is just like the zombies, loose and flimsy. i think the zombies are like a boy band, since their movements all complement each other and just the general style
Man literally took “They all lived peacefully in harmony” to the next level
In HARMONY. 🎼 🎶 🎵
It's so interesting that, up until Purple (and the trader), everyone in this world makes Green talk their way before they're willing to be helpful, whereas with Purple, Green just had to listen.

@Düker Azhara in my opinion, it is easy to do, but hard to get _this good_
you can use visuals to explain things that you cant with words, but it is incredibly hard to make your visuals this clear and impactful
I think Green is the best of all in the entire series so far!!
Visual communication, in my opinion, is much harder than bare words. That's why it's so impactful.

The first time I watched this it made me cry so hard, and I can relate to purple thank you Alan Becker for being an amazing person
I was moved by this animation because it explains the pain of loss 😔 but even if they lost, they can still make a better future
i REALLY need the whole song for the villager part cause it just goes smoothly in my opinion like wow
All these deserve to be a netflix show
Everyone talking about Alan Becker's great storytelling, but no one's talking about how good the llama beatboxes.
Facts 😂
the merchant being the rap one and green ignoring it gave me so much bliss
I read this just as the llama was shown onscreen lol.
Really? It seems to me that that’s all anyone talks about.
True😂
the noteblocks music we're SO AMAZING!! i wish that i could listen to it for 1hour version!!
Oh, my God, I've already shed tears! Is it difficult to make such animations?
It’s difficult, but it’s possible.
Something like this usually takes animation tools, practice, lots of time, commitment, and help. Anyone can animate, even without some of these if they’re determined enough.
Watch Alan Becker’s first videos. He started with very little.
I love this one because I just realized it was a band
0:13 fox, pig, cow and sheep
1:27 baby zombie, zombie, drowned, husk, zombie villager
2:59 villagers
5:14 wandering trader
5:56 green chasing purple
7:53 backstory of purple
a'ight i'mma say it. this is the best episode of the entire series
Holy crap... I can even comprehend this. ITS SO GOOD, IDC IF AVM ENDS AFTER THIS KEEP MAKING ANIMATIONS

This music is giving me literal chills! Im glad to have stayed throuought this journey to come this far.
That village went from Mario Oddysey to drunken walk in an old cartoon, to police chase in the 60s.
Watching this after episode 30.
This is exponentially more sad with the full backstory
This feels like an actual fever dream. I loved every moment of it.
This is a better Disney movie that I’ve ever seen when it comes with music lmao
the whole thing of this is my most fav of all of ur action videos
Green is always a master at everything..
He now mastered the language of noteblocks
I want to just mention how in today's day in age, the fact that Alan is able to tell a story without any actual vocals, but through both animations and in this case music which is extraordinary on various levels, he truly is in a tier of his own along side greats such as Beethoven when you look at what's he's been able to accomplish in stick figure animation alone.
A lot of animation series have characters that don't talk but just make sounds. But HE DID IT WITHOUT FACES AND NO SOUNDS
Honestly as a musician that aspect of musical storytelling just makes the experience infinitely better
Y’all saw that techno reference right when he put the crown on the pig? RIP
I swear this is still my favorite episode, I will never get sick of it
I wonder how can a stickmans backstory make me cry
When Minecraft has a pacifist mode for mobs:

Well, they also taught him to communicate without that machine.

I am actually crying right now.

@YourFriendK1 ya know, the old "no parents?" roast is getting old, so is the "L".

Only reason I made it was cause I had work at 6am but it was much fun to watch it premiere and it’s still amazing to rewatch it later
