Dear Spencer, you do have a head for engineering. This is not something anyone and everyone can do - I mean what you have done on this channel. I am always amazed and eager to see the next set of things. Hi, MacKenzie, I am including your grit and positive attitude and support and work in this acknowledgement too.

No spoilers please! I just found your channel on Friday. I have now completed the first year and starting on the next. When I started the first videos, I told myself,” They’ll never get it done!” Little by little, I was drawn into you two, your untypical methods and Bear. Just watched your big announcement, thus my opening request. You guys continued to intrigue me with your methods and now I am hooked! I have stopped watching my other favorite channels so I can see more of your progress. Just came to this video to post this message in hopes of it getting read by you, then it’s back to where I left off. You are amazing young couple and the videos are kept to a reasonable watching time! I am too old this trip around, but hope to take some of your efforts with me into whatever comes next. Best wishes and I will let you know when I get caught up! Thanks again for sharing your time, thought, progress and sense of humor to a disabled ex cop!

I must be honest, when you said you were going to aerate the pond to clear it up I thought you were mad and will never succeed because of its size. And here you are. This is why I love this channel. You are showing me constantly that nothing is impossible. Thank you.

@richardc1983 it's counterintuitive, but fountains don't do as good of a job as aerators. We did a ton of research for our pond. Fountains are pretty and cool, but not good at fixing issues such as theirs.

The aerator was a great idea. I hope they get inspired to bring in a few truckloads of sand to create a little beach area by the waterfront of their pond. That would be really cool for the kids. And I'm sure they'll eventually be putting a new floating dock out on the water for fishing and swimming as well. Fun for the whole family and friends.

Something else you might consider is a water fountain. You can put the intake on one side of the pond and the fountain on the other an it will circulate the water. Aeration will make your fish grow larger. The Japanese aerate their mud ponds with what looks like a steam boat paddle that spins and flips and splashes the water. I have a Karashi Koi from Japan that is 28 inches and still growing he would get huge in that pond.. With catfish you will always have muddy water. You can also use septic tank bacteria and enzymes in your pond read the labels there are fish safe ones. If you pour it around the aerator it will eat up sludge.

How did you know that aerating the pond would remove the particles in suspension? Did they settle down as sediment or did they rise to the surface? I was thinking, maybe along with aeration you could include some water filtering in your system. Have you thought of that? By the way, thank you for hundreds of hours of entertainment watching your family. You guys are literally incredible. 👍🏼👍🏼

As I continue with watching your videos, and progress on your home, I have been absolutely fascinated with just what you two are doing! It’s hard enough surviving a new marriage but add in a cross country move and building a new house would be taxing on the best of couples! Now you add a beautiful new lady into the mix and I admire you so much more than I already did. Watching your physical changes and seeing Beau grow through the process finds me totally involved with your life and family! Io, Bear and the interaction with Spencer and you,McKensey jus shows the patience and love that you put into everything that you do. If this was a television show, it would be a hit! No other building show has captivated me like yours. I just got to the new shipping container setup but I’ll be da--d if I fast forward as I want to see every step of the build! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, your love, your life and your love with us. Will get in a few more episodes yet this evening and can hardly wait until you start the inside work. Hope that you are now able to enjoy the fruits of your labor and each other! Thanks again for sharing!

I think the catfish may have turned your air-stone stand upside down. That may be why there is so much sediment. You might be able to build the stand a little taller so the bubblers are further from the bottom sediment, and also wider (and maybe heavier) so it is more stable and less likely to flip over. Best wishes!

Burr I know that water is cold. Another great job Spencer. Water already looks better. Time to reclean the ponds edge and remove remaining dock so you will be able to see snakes, etc. If you had a couple of guineas to eat ticks, fleas, all matter of slugs etc. They will also clean up your garden without tearing it up. Check it out. Children are so cute. Enjoy your weekend.

It is very difficult to keep a pond with almost stale water clear from algae, especially in the summertime when the sun heat up the water. I would think you can see quite some improvement here in the fall and winter, but the real test will be next summer, when the heat comes back. Still a great project tho. 👍

Kudos for trying! I am glad to see the reduction in algae. However, you have channel catfish(bottom feeders unless trained to daily floating feed) and, per its original purpose, it is a stock tank(cow watering hole). Combine rain(needed to fill the pond) with that far side bare dirt bank, and you get stained/muddy water.
On the plus side, combine that aerator with daily floating food and y'all could grow some good sized fish!

@Pj K being from Florida, I don't think they appreciate just how dangerous those snakes are, and they just keep hauling them off to the wooded part of the property, and turning them loose, to then make more snakes and infest the place. they need to dispatch every one they see. getting bit by one can destroy body parts , or even kill you.

Possibly the snakes might be focus before that next happy build close to the home.
Hoping barrier/skirting helps stop them being drawn close for shelter. Might take a year.

Nice, came up a new video so soon, i´m happy 😃🤗. Yay, Spencer got to swim with a large tire. It is interesting to see, what Spencer designs and builds. He is very talented. Vater in the bond is clearly cleaner. There are exciting fish, i saw a turtle also. Your children are so adorable 💞. Kenzie is very good mother ❤. Thank you ❣

If y’all don’t have a small boat, I think it’d be great to have one for the pond!😁. Although seeing Spencer in a float was kinda funny!😂🤣. Have a Wonderful week!🥰

I'm happy for you all. Your dreams are coming true!
I was wondering if the aerator was stirring up the muck at the bottom of the pond which was what was causing the brown color. It's still a lot better than before though.
By the way, those catfish look yummy! 😁

Hi you guys, I have been watching your videos since the beginning and I really enjoy the journey, I love that you are so close to completing your home, it’s beautiful. I was wondering what life as a KZclipr is like as a source of income? Do you have plans to continue making videos after the house is done? Does Spencer have another trade that he would go into once the house is complete? Just curious, since you both are so young. Excellent job, can’t wait till the next video. Denise 🤔

Love your wonderful home! Our pond was also so green when we bought our property. We use a fountain. Also every year we buy tilapia and add to the pond. They eat the algae. They die every year because they can't survive cold temperatures. But they do a wonderful job keeping the pond clean without chemicals.

To remove the lid without difficulty created by the lid drain hose going through the bottom of the tote , you could mount a bigger straight pipe from the bottom of the tote going up and shorter the smaller drain hose that would slide free in the bigger stationary pipe .

Sadly my fiancee who lived in California passed away mid may this year due to Covid. Now i watch you guys alone , but in my mind i am still talking to her about what you guys accomplishes. Thank you for making these past 2 years, the best of my passed fiancee and me. Problem alert: As soon as that drainage setup fails (overwhelmed by rain amount, debris, or combo) the water level on top of that tote lid will exceed the height of the top holes and the battery box will fill with water. Batteries will short out in their water bath and burn up.
