The last one is very personal for me. My girlfriend at the time and I were on a weeks-long roadtrip and were camping in Minnesota. I was awake around sun-up, and I kept hearing this sound every few minutes or so. A low thump that was slow at first that sped up then stopped. After hearing it a few times, I had to figure out what it was. I looked out the window of the tent and waited for it to start again. It took me another time or two to see the source, but eventually, through the brush I saw a bird up on a stump in a ray of sunshine. It was like he was on stage. Then I saw the bird beat its wings, and it was the sound I was searching for. I watched over and over again, taking in the native display, hoping one day to find out the name of the responsible bird. I wish I could say you solved the mystery for me, but I did figure it out in the intervening years. I'll never forget it, though. I love your videos, zefrank!

I get an immense sense of happiness from the thought that some actual scientists out there might actually be doing lab or field work while wearing a "science hippy" shirt.
9:09 I really like moments where you can almost see what might be going on in an insects head, at the beginning you can see the wasp cautiously sizing up its prey and even takes a glance at the roaches back half to see if its safe to take the lunge or not (or maybe its making sure its facing the correct side of the roach). Then when you put the attack in slow motion, you can see that the cockroach has actually blocked the jewel wasp's abdomen using its legs, preventing it from getting a sting in. Unfortunately for the roach its current position does not leave it stable enough to keep its balance against the tugging of the wasp and the two topple over, allowing the wasp to successfully sting it.
