I love how Steph's answer to the question is the almost exact same wording as Giannis' statement, with the interviewer only telling him that Giannis said that "He is the best player".
They are both purely talking about winning and it just shows that these are two of the guys that actually go out there every night to win, and their accolades show that too.

Giannis keeps it so 100 everytime. That’s what makes him great. That’s what puts him in that top 5. He recognizes who’s on the top of the food chain and that whoever is there is the TARGET. Giannis is an evolving BEAST. One title ain’t enough for him. 💪🏽

      @obs pareh
what a silly comment. how many other players can you name who could brought the fucking BUCKS their first championship (only 2nd ever) in 50 years?
how many others won with a small-market team with shitty weather in the middle of nowhere that nobody wants to play for? in the modern era the only ones that come to mind are Lebron and maybe Kawhi (raptors aren't small-market but have similar problems attracting talent)
it's an even greater achievement in the age of "player empowerment" and super teams where moving to already strong contenders and teaming up with other elites is the norm for top players. Then you have Giannis. A player that stayed loyal to the team that drafted him. That built from the ground up. That transformed a team that usually misses the playoffs into perennial contenders. That won it all with one other all star on his team.
even if it IS his only ring, he is already solidified as an all time great. youre a salty ass hater, keep trolling

It is, but basketball is also a team game so I also like to be fair to the players in poverty franchises or such. (Usually, not a good idea to Use hypotheticals unless its obvious)
But even though they didn’t win they likely didn’t get much of a chance to.
However, typical really good players without a ring will usually get a MVP, some deep playoff like a finals appearance. Like example: Allen Iverson in 01. Nothing he could do about Shaq, Kobe lakers
Giannis is correct, still winning matters most. Example: Bill Russell (rip)

@Tommy honestly either way we can both argue on who is better between giannis and curry currently you can't go wrong picking between them but accomplishments speaks for itself 4 rings > 1 so enough said end of arguement

    • Tommy
      Tommy 2 ай бұрын

And again: Originally your argument was being faster, more steals, better dribbling, shooting and more assists which is like you said expected for his position which is a dumb argument, and you act like giannis ain't basically avg the same assists, stls, more points this season. Nobody looks at rebounding, steals, and blocks and separates it from defense. The game of basketball and determining the value of a player and what they bring to the game is more than raw stats, when you got advance stats/analytics, and actual nba games.

@Smart Mouf crazy how giannis is good at rebounding and blocks when that aspect is part of defense lmao. You literally mentioned In your previous arguments about height and his position being the reason he's good at things and it's expected. That doesn't deteriorate the fact they do stuff on the court.

The internet and the people who inhabit this space are very interesting. How long can this masquerade be upheld? I think it's only a matter of time before it turns on Giannis as well. People want to be there when everything is going well especially when they feel like they helped put you in that place or space for things to happen that way. Yet, these are also the people who want to snatch all of that away and throw dirt over a person as to take them out of that place or space. But I guess it's a part of the game, and it's already happened to the ones before him so why wouldn't it happen to him as well?

@vesa Curry has won 0 championships without Klay and Draymond healthy... maybe you are downplaying their importance in all of this. For the record I'm fine with saying Steph is the best player but just because you win the title doesn't mean your best player is the best individual player in the league. LeBron was much better than any player on the Spurs in 2014 for example.

    • vesa

@dreams disagree, he is a main player for how many years, he is the most important person in that team and that's why he gets the credit as the best in NBA, they are all allstars because they won so much while being in the same team with Steph Curry, you can say it like this also

    • killuafan
      killuafan 2 ай бұрын +1

@dreams it's ironic that the warriors 2021 run proves why he's such an insane player. He has a good team because he understands the system he plays in. Just see their stats in 2021 and tell me how you arrive to this conclusion. Steph makes everyone better in the court, it's intangible and it's what makes him great as a player. No one expected a warriors win for a reason, the warriors players are up and comings with unproven players like Wiggins. It's not just being given a better team, it's about being a good team. There's a difference.
