Right?! I had to stand up quickly from the floor and run as fast as I could in my competitive dance routine and omfg I almost died. Like you can't breath properly and then you still have to continue dancing.. And our routine was only 4 minutes. The biggest respect for stray kids fr!!!

@user_ skz practiced with Korea backup dancers 1 month for mama but skz Korean dancers got an accident so they can't perform so they replaced with japan dancers they practice only for 24 hours before performance.

They're really were pushing their limits. I.N fell from dance exhaustion as soon the lights went out after their performance. They were all breathing hard for air at the end. They alwaya put in all their energy into their every move & work extra hard to give an exceptional performance.

they prepared for this stage for 1 month so they did have the stamina finish this they're just exhausted to see at the end cuz they're body is not conditioned to the new environment in Japan, at that place it's hot. Plus the clothes and ofc the added pressure to perform finally and last among others.

@Guru Holistico Espiritual Ocioso probably the opposite- no drugs and being in their twenties as well as doing that insane choreography quite often. Plus the adrenaline from performing. I know that in that kind of situation you can get a lot out of you body if you want to.

Just by curiosity, which were the top 3 groups/artists who brought the most energy for you who were there?

@goose goose Yes, they did amazing! Like I said, I won't judge an idol for doing what is more practical for a performance, regardless if it is toning down a dance or using a backtrack, so for me it doesn't really make a difference. Their performance was strong, thrilling and overflowing with charisma!

@Jackie Arnolds ​ Thanks for clarifying. I just got confused by that statement bcoz I can clearly hear them live at parts. & yes Felix's voice is low & hard to tell. But the thing is I can again hear members with no hand mics during Maniac performance as well. They're Felix & Seungmin & ofc his high note 8:31. I doubt it's only me bcoz I've read comments of knetz praising Seungmin's high note. He's not breathing as heavily bcoz he's not the part of heavy choreo most of the time & performing calmly throughout maniac performance (but ofc everyone went hard towards the end)for comparison Hyunjin is dancing real hard and also I.N. There was this fancam where they had to hold the final pose I.N almost dropped to his knees quicker & Chan was so ready to catch him.
Anyways since I believe we're only relying on our ears there can be confusion. For that I wanna share what I found interesting. Few weeks ago there was this kpop grp (i won't name them) basically said to their fans that they were performing live during a performance. But they instead got dragged by kpop stans bcoz ppl claimed they cant hear live vocals. Now the question is were the idols balantly lying to their fans? I doubt they were. What I think is these award shows are hella sneaky. They edit so much. I heard Mnet even edited audition clip of survival program to make it sound flawless; how much will they do to hide idols' vocal cracks/mistakes. Imagine the idols themselves getting surprised watching the performance at home LOL. U asked why we don't hear their heavy breathe after music stops right? They can remove it completely & they infact do that most of the time. I think there were vids here exposing korean singing shows too. So it's best to hear from fancam & from ppl who attended these shows. There were ppl highly praising skz live vocals for this mama. Regardless of all these discussion I think we can all agree they did a great job here. I agree with ur way of thinking though. There's no doubt they've backtrack & its nthg against any artist.

@Jackie Arnolds they indeed have backtracks for those particular parts of a choreo where they can't sing live, for example, I.N's head-shaking as you mentioned. At the same time, you can hear them sing live when they don't "shake", or "move" as much, which you can listen to by the overlapping backtrack and live vocals. For the rapping, it is normal for stray kids to have a backtrack for their raps during award shows as they skip some parts to catch a breath if needed, but they still sing live (especially the members with a hand-held mic). The reason why I believe it to be like that is that you can clearly hear two voices of Han's overlapping, and you can hear it much clearer from a fancam. Also, before releasing these clips, it's known for mnet and other channels to mix the sound of the backtrack and the sound coming from the mics for it to sound smoother.
I am not going to deny that they lip sync during jumping movements (if you can't clearly hear them out of breath) or running etc. I just know that sometimes you can hear them breathing or not being able to finish the rap smoothly, as Hyunjin did with "hey spider, you got me locked up.." because obviously, he was out of breath from dancing really hard. Also, not only from Venom but for Maniac you can hear and see 3racha hyping up the crown and also hear some members trying to overpower the backing track. For maniac, you can hear two Felix voices at the same time, one clear (which is the back-track) and the lower one (which is the live one), it is the same with Changbin. I will assume that the volume on the mics is lowered and when they actually sing, they can't be heard as much as they want. You can hear some members screaming into the mic because they know the backtrack is way too high.

@midori788 Sorry for not clarifying, I was talking only about the Maniac performance in my comment. You can tell Venom is live. Aside from that, I never said they can't sing live, I was saying they weren't singing live. Because they mostly weren't, for Maniac. Like many in this comment section, you don't seem to know very well how to differentiate between live singing and pre-recorded, which you can learn more about here on KZclip if you want. It's not a matter or talent, it's about being practical, realistic and striving to give an all around good looking and sounding performance.

@goose goose Sorry, my bad for not specifying, I was talking mostly about the Maniac performance. During Venom the only one I'm not sure is Felix, cause his voice sounds very clear and louder than I'd expect from how low his tone is. But aside from him, that I can't really tell, the rest is, indeed, singing live. In the Maniac performance, you can tell by that double voice sound at 6:51 that Han was singing live over a backtrack, as he stops and the sound doesn't and you can hear it going from that double voice effect to just one. Aside from that, like I said, I think only those with hand-held mics were actually live (for Maniac) at some point, like the moments you pointed when Hyunjin and IN are lyp-sincing. I'm don't think Seungmin's high note was live, because it was towards the end of their performance and you can tell the hard dancing was taking a toll on them, so I believe he should have sounded more out of breath if it was live. And as you mentioned ad-libs and those types of sounds, I think they are usually, for all artists, pre-recorded because they are edited in studio to sound one way or another, so a lot of then can't be recreated live without sounding silly. Not saying that's the case here, just a general observation to say those parts shouldn't even be considered to evaluate if a performance is live or not, in my opinion.
